A Golden icon for three decades\, Golden Fine Arts Festiva l is a prestigious juried art show located in the heart of historic downto wn Golden\, Colorado happening August 21-22.

The United States Marine Corps Memorial Foundation will hold the annual ceremony for Veterans Day on Saturday\, November 6 at 2 p.m.
The ceremony\, honoring veterans and the 100 year anniversary of the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier\, will feature Guest Speaker Cmdr. Jason Pratt \, USN (Retired) along with a music program. Archaeology isn’t just about digs in exotic locations far aw ay from here. Golden has a rich history that we’re still “uncovering”! Sto p by the Golden History Museum (923 10th St.) on Saturday\, April 30 between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. and visit with archaeologist Amy Gi llaspie while she photographs artifacts collected during the Astor House C ommunity Archaeology Project excavation of summer 2021.
Learn more about the Astor House dig site\, ask about a day in the life of an archae ologist\, or just take a look at the artifacts. Amy specializes in social changes at Front Range historic sites and has also excavated at Plains sit es in Colorado and North Dakota\, at Classic Maya sites in Belize\, and fo r the US Department of Defense on a World War II recovery mission in Franc e. This a free drop-in event with NO registration required.

Golden P arks and Recreation is using DeLong Park as a pilot project for the City’s first organic park location. This means that we will be using only natura l\, organic products for all plants and grasses. No synthetic chemicals wi ll be used in our maintenance practices.
A group of weed-busting v olunteers meets weekly at DeLong Park on Thursday mornings from 8 to 10 a. m. to weed out invasive species–interested community members can join the group on Thursday mornings and be on the lookout for more information abou t formally signing up to help keep DeLong Park pesticide-free as a volunte er.
There will be NO firework s in Golden this year\, but lots of opportunity to celebrate at the 4th of July Festival in Lions Park\, organized and hosted by the Golden Lions Cl ub.

Join your neighbors for a day of celebration a nd community service on National Public Land Day! The City of Golden\, in partnership with Jefferson County Open Space and the City of Wheat Ridge\, is sponsoring a Clear Creek Clean-up.
Participants will be workin g along a 22 mile stretch of the Peaks to Plains Trail along Clear Creek. Past efforts have resulted in the collection of 12\,220 pounds of trash. M ismanaged trash that escapes into waterways can create a wide range of pro blems. Aquatic trash affects water quality\, endangers plants and animals\ , and pollutes the outdoor spaces that we depend on for tourism and recrea tion.
The canyon will be closed for this very special event.

Come out to Golden’s newest city park\, DeLong Park\, for an Earth Day Celebration (rescheduled from April due to weather) held by vol unteer DeLong Weedbusters from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on June 3.
The Golden Lions Club is hosting the 51st annual 4th of July community celebration in Lions Park. Activities k ick off at 11 a.m. with music by three local bands\, food\, drink\, childr en’s activities (including a hula hoop contest at 2:30 p.m.) and a raffle.
The day culminates in a fireworks display at approx. 9:30 p.m.\, weather and fire conditions permitting. Keep an eye on the City’s social media channels (Facebook and Twitter) for up-t o-the-minute updates if a cancellation is necessary.
The celebration is a day for families\, friends\, and neighbors to gather in L ions Park to picnic or purchase food and drink. All raffle and festival pr oceed go to support the work that the Lions Club does in the community throughou t the year.

Celebrate Golden Retrievers in Golden during “Goldens In Golden” with lots of fun\, fanfare\, fluff\, and photo ops.
Trained\, friendly\, and leashed dogs are invited\, and o wners are kindly requested to please clean up after their dog.

Bring the little ones for the annual Easter Egg Hunt on Satu rday\, March 30 in Parfet Park.
Sponsored by the Kiwanis Club of G olden\, the “hunt” starts at 10 a.m. as children dart about to find the co lorful treasures! It doesn’t take more than a few minutes for all the eggs to be gathered up\, so don’t be late!
Children up to age 10 are w elcome.
The Golden Bike Cruise is back with fun costume- themed rides\, live music\, beer from New Terrain\, food from Bob’s Burger s\, a two prize drawings at each event.
The event takes place on the last Tuesday of the month\, May through Septembe r. Kegs are tapped at 5:30 p.m.\, the Cruise begins at 6:30 p.m.\, and the fun continues until 9 p.m!
Riders begin an d end at Calvary Church in Golden\, 818 14th St.

The Golden Farmers Mar ket\, sponsored by the Golden Chamber of Commerce\, takes place Saturdays\ , June 1 – Oct. 5 (closed July 27 for Buffalo Bill Days) from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 10th and Illinois.
The Farmers Mar ket features 70 vendors of produce and homemade artisanal foods and goods. Food trucks are onsite for visitors to enjoy breakfast or lunch by the cr eek.
Leashed\, friendly dogs are welcome. p>\n
