ur park system\, Jefferson County Open Space is currently updating the acc
ess and trailheads component of the South Table Mountain Park Plan. This p
lan proposes a new main trailhead at Denver West and improvements to acces

blic engagement about these potential improvements\, Jefferson County Open

ree in Parfet Park. This week we bring you Raiders of the Lost
Ark along with the music of Izcalli.

Each week\, the bands begin performing at 7 p.m. and the featured
movie will start rolling at dusk\, generally around 8:30 p.m. The movies
are shown on a giant screen under the stars.

Bring blankets or low
-slung chairs\, and make yourself comfortable! If you need to sit up high
in a regular height chair\, however\, please be courteous of those sitting
on the ground\, and keep to the edges of the crowd. We’ve dedicated the f
ront area to blankets only\, so please look for the signs. Come early and
bring a picnic dinner\, or enjoy food and drinks from local vendors.

A Golden icon for three decades\, Golden Fine Arts Festiva
l is a prestigious juried art show located in the heart of historic downto
wn Golden\, Colorado happening August 21-22.

With its prime locati
on just 20 minutes west of Metro Denver and free admission to the public\,
this premier event traditionally draws over 30\,000 visitors (pre-COVID)
over 2 days to enjoy art\, live entertainment\, beer and wine gardens\, an
d food vendors.

The event\, rich in community tradition and a well
-established reputation\, is limited to 100 artist booth spaces. If social
distancing restrictions are in place\, booth spaces may be limited furthe
r. Artists are selected through a competitive jury process selected by art
professionals. Traditionally\, over half of participating artists travel
to Golden from outside of the state of Colorado. Colorado is also home to
many talented artists who participate at the event each year. Cash prizes
are awarded to 1st and 2nd place winners in nine categories\, as well as B
est of Show and Best of Colorado honors.

es offered for Golden area residents offered by the Rotary Club of Golden.
The Mental Wellness Initiative focuses on promoting mental well-being in
teens and kids.

Any type of tr
agedy\, including the COVID-19 pandemic\, can leave caretakers struggling
to find what to say and how to connect with their youth. How do we help ki
ds feel safe and secure in a world that doesn’t feel that way? This class
covers how to help kids cope\, strategies for care givers to utilize to su
pport feelings of control for them and their young people\, and how caregi
vers themselves can take care of their emotions.

ibert (LPC) is the clinical coordinator for Colorado Spirit\, a team worki
ng with those impacted by COVID-19 through Jefferson Center. She received
her Master’s degree in International Disaster Psychology and specializes i
n trauma-based treatments\, such as EMDR and TF-CBT. Prior to this role\,
she provided individual\, group\, and family therapy to students in Jeffer
son County schools\, as well as providing professional development for edu
cators and administrators on mental health and trauma.

The next US6 & Heritage Road Interchange Open House #4 hap
pens on Wednesday\, Oct. 13 at 6 p.m. The meeting is entirely virtual and

The United States Marine Corps Memorial Foundation will hold
the annual ceremony for Veterans Day on Saturday\, November 6 at 2 p.m.

The ceremony\, honoring veterans and the 100 year anniversary of the
Tomb of the Unknown Soldier\, will feature Guest Speaker Cmdr. Jason Pratt
\, USN (Retired) along with a music program. The 13 US troops fallen on Au
gust 26th will also be honored\, and a parade float of the Tomb of the Unk
nown Soldier will be on site.

This year the USMC Memorial has been
expanded to collect donations for the Toys for Tots program.
