The next US6 & Heritage Road Interchange Open House #4 hap
pens on Wednesday\, Oct. 13 at 6 p.m. The meeting is entirely virtual and
requires p
re-registration. After registering\, you will receive a confi
rmation email containing information about joining the meeting.

\nThis open house will include a presentation describing four
alternatives for project aesthetics\, and an opportunity for participants
to ask questions and provide input.
\nThe United States Marine Corps Memorial Foundation will hold
the annual ceremony for Veterans Day on Saturday\, November 6 at 2 p.m.
\nThe ceremony\, honoring veterans and the 100 year anniversary of the
Tomb of the Unknown Soldier\, will feature Guest Speaker Cmdr. Jason Pratt
\, USN (Retired) along with a music program. The 13 US troops fallen on Au
gust 26th will also be honored\, and a parade float of the Tomb of the Unk
nown Soldier will be on site.
\nThis year the USMC Memorial has been
expanded to collect donations for the Toys for Tots program.

DESCRIPTION:The Historic Preservation Board has a number of responsibili
ties regarding the preservation and upkeep of Golden’s many historic sites

\nThe Board meets in Council Chambers on the second Wednesday even
ing of each month in public hearing at 6:30 p.m. unless otherwise noted on
the calendar. Study sessions may be scheduled as needed.
\nThe Public Art Commission (PAC) has the responsibility of pr
omoting\, selecting\, acquiring and maintaining public art in the fulfillm
ent of the City’s Art in Public Places program.
\nPAC meets on the f
irst Thursday of each month from 9 to 10:30 a.m. These meeting are open to
the public.
\nThe Colorado School of Mines Board of Trustees has given for
mal approval to begin work with a developer\, Capstone Development Partner
s\, on a public-private partnership that will reimagine Mines Park student
housing and raise the total bed count from 538 to more than 1\,000. Const
ruction and renovation will begin in Summer 2022\, with the first phase do
ne by Fall 2023 and final completion by Fall 2024.
\nThe project tea
m is hosting the second of three meetings on Jan. 19\, 6 to 7 p.m. with cu
rrent Mines Park residents\, Mines students and the surrounding City of Go
lden community as planning progresses to receive feedback on the vision fo
r Mines Park.
\nPlanning Commission will meet in special session to discuss
an application by CoorsTek for a rezoning of 12.2 acres for mixed-use rede
velopment\, and an alley vacation for a platted alley between Ford and Jac
kson Streets (currently location of the parking lot adjacent to 10th St.)
for the CoorsTek site.
\nThe public is welcome to attend.
