Past efforts have result ed in the collection of 12\,220 pounds of trash. Mismanaged trash that esc apes into waterways can create a wide range of problems. Aquatic trash aff ects water quality\, endangers plants and animals\, and pollutes the outdo or spaces that we depend on for tourism and recreation.\nThe canyon will b e closed for this very special event.\nVolunteers must Sign up online to p articipate in this special day of community service.\nAfterwards\, be sure to join a post-project celebration at the Gateway Trailhead in Golden.
