Th e Mental Wellness Initiative focuses on promoting mental well-being in tee ns and kids.\n\nAny type of tragedy\, including the COVID-19 pandemic\, ca n leave caretakers struggling to find what to say and how to connect with their youth. How do we help kids feel safe and secure in a world that does n’t feel that way? This class covers how to help kids cope\, strategies fo r care givers to utilize to support feelings of control for them and their young people\, and how caregivers themselves can take care of their emoti ons.\nSpeaker Chelsea Vibert (LPC) is the clinical coordinator for Colorad o Spirit\, a team working with those impacted by COVID-19 through Jefferso n Center. She received her Master’s degree in International Disaster Psych ology and specializes in trauma-based treatments\, such as EMDR and TF-CBT . Prior to this role\, she provided individual\, group\, and family therap y to students in Jefferson County schools\, as well as providing professio nal development for educators and administrators on mental health and trau ma.\nThis class will be offered in person and on Zoom\, for those who wish to join virtually. The Mental Wellness Initia tive focuses on promoting mental well-being in teens and kids.
\nAny type of tragedy\, including the COVID -19 pandemic\, can leave caretakers struggling to find what to say and how to connect with their youth. How do we help kids feel safe and secure in a world that doesn’t feel that way? This class covers how to help kids cop e\, strategies for care givers to utilize to support feelings of control f or them and their young people\, and how caregivers themselves can take ca re of their emotions.
\nSpeaker Chelsea Vibert (LPC) is the clinical coordinator for Colorado Spirit\, a team working with those impacted by C OVID-19 through Jefferson Center. She received her Master’s degree in Inte rnational Disaster Psychology and specializes in trauma-based treatments\, such as EMDR and TF-CBT. Prior to this role\, she provided individual\, g roup\, and family therapy to students in Jefferson County schools\, as wel l as providing professional development for educators and administrators o n mental health and trauma.
