The City of Golden\, in partnership with Jefferson County Open Space and the City of Wheat Ridge\, is sponsoring a Clear Cree k Clean-up.
\nParticipants will be working along a 22 mile stretch o f the Peaks to Plains Trail along Clear Creek. Past efforts have resulted in the collection of 12\,220 pounds of trash. Mismanaged trash that escape s into waterways can create a wide range of problems. Aquatic trash affect s water quality\, endangers plants and animals\, and pollutes the outdoor spaces that we depend on for tourism and recreation.
\nThe canyon wi ll be closed for this very special event.
\nVolunteers must Sign up online to pa rticipate in this special day of community service.
\nAfter wards\, be sure to join a post-project celebration at the Gat eway Trailhead in Golden. Volunteers will be treated to live music\, free food from a handful of food trucks and beer for individuals 2 1 years of age and older.
