ering\, is working to develop a Bike and Pedestrian Master Plan that will
provide the groundwork to ensure everyone—residents\, visitors and commute
rs—has access to safe and efficient multimodal travel. More than just infr
astructure\, the Plan will focus on expanding our walking and biking cultu
re through partnerships\, programs and policy.\nWe want to hear from our c

DESCRIPTION:Join your neighbors for a day of celebration and community serv
ice on National Public Land Day! The City of Golden\, in partnership with
Jefferson County Open Space and the City of Wheat Ridge\, is sponsoring a
Clear Creek Clean-up.\nParticipants will be working along a 22 mile stretc
h of the Peaks to Plains Trail along Clear Creek. Past efforts have result
ed in the collection of 12\,220 pounds of trash. Mismanaged trash that esc
apes into waterways can create a wide range of problems. Aquatic trash aff
ects water quality\, endangers plants and animals\, and pollutes the outdo
or spaces that we depend on for tourism and recreation.\nThe canyon will b
e closed for this very special event.\nVolunteers must Sign up online to p
articipate in this special day of community service.\nAfterwards\, be sure
to join a post-project celebration at the Gateway Trailhead in Golden. Vo
lunteers will be treated to live music\, free food from a handful of food
trucks and beer for individuals 21 years of age and older.

\nParticipants will be working along a 22 mile stretch o
f the Peaks to Plains Trail along Clear Creek. Past efforts have resulted
in the collection of 12\,220 pounds of trash. Mismanaged trash that escape
s into waterways can create a wide range of problems. Aquatic trash affect
s water quality\, endangers plants and animals\, and pollutes the outdoor
spaces that we depend on for tourism and recreation.

osting the 51st annual 4th of July community celebration in Lions Park. Ac

a raffle.\nThe day culminates in a fireworks display at approx. 9:30 p.m.
\, weather and fire conditions permitting. Keep an eye on the City’s socia

mmunity celebration in Lions Park. Activities kick off at 11 a.m. with mus
ic by three local bands\, food\, drink\, children’s activities (including
a hula hoop contest at 2:30 p.m.) and a raffle.
\nThe day cu
lminates in a fireworks display at approx. 9:30 p.m.\, weather and fire co
nditions permitting. Keep an eye on the City’s social media channels (Facebook and Twitter ) for up-to-the-minute updates if a c
ancellation is necessary.
\nThe celebration is a day for fa
milies\, friends\, and neighbors to gather in Lions Park to picnic or purc
hase food and drink. All raffle and festival proceed go to support the work that
the Lions Club does in the community throughout the year.
\nParking near the festival is extremely limited. The 8th\, 9th an
d 10th Street neighborhood will be closed to through traffic and festival
parking. Ride your bike or walk to the event if you are local.
