Background:
Fire Inspector Berens began a career in the fire service in February of 2004 as a volunteer firefighter/EMT with Foothills Fire and Rescue. He became a Resident Firefighter/EMT with Lake Dillon in April 2006. Upon his Departure from Lake Dillon in March 2007 he became the Fire Inspector and Lead Arson Investigator with Foothills Fire Protection District. He began with the City of Golden Fire Department in Late 2008.
Paul has experience in fire suppression, rescue operations, driver engineer, incident command, fire prevention administration and fire investigations. Fire Inspector Berens is currently a certified: Fire Inspector I through the International Code Council; State of Colorado Fire Suppression System Inspector and Fire and Explosion Investigator through the National Association of Fire Investigators.
His spare time is spent with his family, friends and his dog Egan. He enjoys camping, four wheeling and playing ice hockey.
