Golden ezMaps 2.0
Welcome to the City of Golden’s ezMaps tool! In cooperation with the City of Lakewood, we are happy to provide this service for you. ezMaps 2.0 was developed using ESRI's ArcGIS Server and Microsoft's Silverlight to create a dynamic Internet mapping application. The City first released ezMaps in 2003 using ESRI's ArcIMS product for mapping.
Please note that you will need to have Silverlight installed on your computer in order to successfully run Golden ezMaps. When launching the application, Silverlight should automatically launch however, if you would like to download Silverlight on your own, please click here. This is a free download.
ezMaps is a web-based mapping tool that not only shows different views of Golden, but also presents information associated with specific properties, including address, school district, zoning and City Council ward information. In addition, you will find information on parks, trails and snow routes.
What’s new in ezMaps:
· Adjustable map transparency between map view and aerial view.
· Measure distance tool that will provide information in feet, miles, meters and kilometers.
· Collect latitude and longitude location information.
· Drop-down map layer interaction.
· Minimize or expand the navigation pane
· Mouse wheel zoom in and zoom out.
· Link to Google Street View.
· Link to Bing Maps Bird’s Eye View.
Golden ezMaps was designed as a building block for an evolutionary web-based service of providing land-based data to the public. This tool was created by the City of Lakewood, who then made it available to the City of Golden for a nominal cost. By sharing resources, both cities have provided a useful service to their citizens in a very cost-effective manner.
