The Campaign Election Board was created by Ordinance No. 1682, and codified in Chapter 1.05 Local Campaign Finance – Reporting Requirements, in 2005.
The board, appointed by City Council, is empowered to hear any alleged violation of Chapter 1.05, which may be brought before it by any resident of the city or city employee charged with duties related to the Chapter and set forth in the Chapter.
The board is composed of three residents of the City of Golden who are registered electors and are not serving on another board or commission appointed by the City Council.
Initial terms are one two year appointment; and two for four years. Terms, after the initial terms, will be for four years.
If you are interested in applying for a vacancy on the Campaign Election Board, you must be a resident of the City of Golden. A written application is turned in to the City Clerk. Personal interviews are conducted by City Council. Appointment is by the Mayor and confirmed by a majority of the City Council.
