Special Event Planning
We are excited you have chosen Golden for your event! Whether you’re planning a parade, a festival, a 5K run or just a neighborhood block party, the City of Golden would like to help you make your event possible. Every event that utilizes a public park, property, path or street needs an event permit. In an effort to make the application process as smooth and efficient as possible, we have created a packet of information (pdf) to help you plan your event. Please don’t be intimidated by its size – you will only need to submit the forms applicable to your event. At the front of the packet, you will find a helpful planning matrix to help you determine which forms you need to fill out and submit with your application and the fees that apply.
Deadline for Special Event Applications: 60 days in advance of event
Deadline for Block Party Applications: 21 days in advance of event
Golden Banner Requests
You may have also noticed the large arch over Golden’s downtown, welcoming folks to our community! The banner that goes below the arch can be rented in one-week increments by anyone holding a public event in the City of Golden. Below is also the form to request a banner, along with the banner requirements. Please keep in mind, the banner spots fill up quickly. So get the requests in well in advance of your event. Only one banner at a time can hang in that spot and it is first come, first served.
Pavilion and Facilities Rentals
If you want to rent a park pavilion or a city facility for private use, you’ll need to contact Larry Rock at the Golden Community Center at 303-384-8133 or go to the Rental Information Page.
