    Businesses who are small quantity generators of hazardous waste are welcome, and charged for disposal according to the type and amount of waste.

    Christmas Trees Christmas tree recycling is provided by the City of Golden Forestry Division. Program details are distributed every December in the Golden informer. Dates and locations published every December in the “Golden Informer.” Contact the City Forrester at (303) 384-8141 with additional questions.
    Compact Fluorescent Light Bulbs Home Depot
    Unwanted or non-functioning CFLs may be taken to the returns desk at any Home Depot for free recycling. The CFLs must be intact and not broken into pieces.

    Electronic Waste

    Computers, monitors, TV’s, microwaves, electronics, etc.

    Electronic waste is now classified by Colorado Law as a hazardous waste. Businesses are required to dispose of electronic waste accordingly. Residents are encouraged to do so, but are not required to by law at this time.

    Mixed paper, including newspaper, magazines, junk mail, catalogs, office paper as well as steel (tin) and aluminum cans, Plastics #1 through #7, all colors of glass, cardboard, phonebooks and paperboard.

    The Center is open from 7am to 7pm each day. Bins are picked up daily, Monday through Friday.  Please use it, but do not abuse it, or it will be removed. The wind can be a real problem so please keep the lids closed on the dumpsters and do not leave any trash behind them. Thanks for your cooperation.
    HINT! The bins fill up fast on the weekends. The best days to leave materials are Tuesday through Friday.
