Look for the market in its customary location next to the Golden Library at 10th & Illinois Streets, on Saturday mornings from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The Downtown Development Authority (DDA) is a special district entity authorized and directed by state statute to benefit the economic and community vitality of the downtown area. The DDA will also be authorized to provide tax increment economic incentives to eligible redevelopment projects, much like GURA was able to do in the past.
The DDA meets the third Monday at 6:30 p.m unless otherwise noted on the calendar to accommodate holidays or other scheduling conflicts.

Members of the Golden business community will have an opportunity to meet with the narrowed field of City Manager candidates during a Business Community Breakfast on Tuesday, June 28, 7:30 – 8:30 a.m. in City Hall Council Chambers at 911 10th St.

This family-friendly event, sponsored by the Golden Community Commons group, takes place on the last Tuesday of the month, May through September.
Gather at Calvary Church’s Celebration Plaza at 5:30 p.m. for music, food, raffles and New Terrain Brewery on site serving beer and cider. A themed, costumed bike cruise heads off at 6:30 p.m. for a ride around Golden before heading back to the Plaza for more fun that continues until 9 p.m.

The City of Golden will host a community-wide meeting in City Council Chambers (911 10th Street) from 6 p.m to 7:30 p.m. on June 29 to begin community education about the recently updated Community Wildfire Protection Plan in Golden.
Golden Fire Chief Jerry Stricker will lead the meeting, offering an overview of the Community Wildfire Protection Plan updates. He will also discuss the ten wildfire risk zones identified in Golden, and ways that individuals and families can best be prepared in the event of a wildfire. There will also be a high level overview of mitigation efforts and evacuation planning recently conducted by the City of Golden and Jefferson County. A short Q&A session will follow.

Join your neighbors for Coffee with Councilors the first Saturday of the month at 10 a.m. at the Golden Community Center Front Porch, 1470 10th St. Or if you prefer, join us online from the comfort of your own home (bring your own coffee!).
Each month this year, the discussion will center on a value from the Golden Vision 2030 document. We want to know how you see the City of Golden putting those values into practice, and how we can do better to reach our vision.

There will be NO fireworks in Golden this year, but lots of opportunity to celebrate at the 4th of July Festival in Lions Park, organized and hosted by the Golden Lions Club.
The celebration is an opportunity for families, friends, and neighbors to get together at Lions Park on 10th Street to enjoy food, fun and live music while celebrating our great country.
Bring your own picnic, or food will be available for purchase from American Legion Golden Post 21 and two specialty food trucks. Drinks will also be available for purchase from Coors, Golden City Brewery beer, and Bonacquisti Wines (Denver’s Urban Winery).
