The annual Chili Cook-off is GHS’s largest fundraising event. Enter your favorite chili in one of four categories, or just bring the family for all-you-can eat chili and shop the silent auction.

Tickets are $5 in advance and $7 at the door.

Celebrating the Contributions & Achievements of Women in Golden and throughout Jefferson County! International Women’s Day got its start at the turn of the twentieth century in North America and across Europe as part of the labor movement. The day was first marked 109 years ago, and today hundreds of communities around the globe celebrate the many contributions and achievements of women everywhere, while noting improvements that are needed to improve life for women, children and men worldwide. This year, in keeping with the objective of the United Nations for gender parity in all careers, we are focusing on the future of women in STEM – Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics. We are proud to be working with the Golden Library and DECTech at the Colorado School of Mines to recognize young women (grades 5 – 8) with the “Girls in STEM” awards at our luncheon event.

JOY (Jamboree for Outstanding Youngsters) is a children’s carnival put on by Colorado School of Mines coed service and leadership fraternity, Alpha Phi Omega, that promotes STEM-related activities for local youth.

Held on the Colorado School of Mines campus, it includes a variety of STEM activities hosted by campus and community organizations. The theme for the carnival this year is dinosaurs!

Taste of Golden features samplings from a wide variety of Golden’s fine dining restaurants, eateries, and sweet-shops, as well as from local Breweries and Distilleries.

This is an opportunity to sample some of the best that Golden culinary treats that Golden has to offer.

A limited number of tickets are available and no tickets will be sold at the door, so plan ahead and purchase your tickets soon on the Golden Chamber of Commerce website.​

The Mines Music Spring Concert is on Sunday, April 29 from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Ford building on the Colorado School of Mines campus, 1301 19^th St.

The vocal music groups will perform from 1 to 2 p.m. and the Concert Band from 2 to 3 p.m. The Xi Chapter of Kappa Kappa Psi National Honorary Band Fraternity will hold a prize raffle at the end, with a chance to win many great prizes donated by businesses in the Golden area. This is a progressive night that mashes up the community of The Wright with local businesses and organizations of Golden by encouraging exploration of historic downtown. This year’s events, specials and partnerships are hosted by a number of different businesses.

Golden Landmarks Association (GLA) is hosting its seventeenth Living Landmarks Dinner this year to recognize individuals and organizations whose dedication to Golden has had a positive impact on the City and greater community. GLA is dedicated to preserving Golden’s history and historic places and educating residents and visitors alike about the Golden area.
