The Parks, Recreation & Museums Advisory Board was created in 1982 in order to increase community involvement, and to advise Golden City Council and staff on how to best provide safe and comprehensive parks and recreation facilities, programs, and services on behalf of all current and future residents of the City of Golden.

The board consists of seven members and one alternate who serve four-year terms, making suggestions about policies and procedures, fees and charges, acceptance of park land, design of parks, and other projects relating to the Parks and Recreation Department.

The board meets regularly at 7 p.m. in the Community Center on the third Tuesday of each month. For more information, please visit our Parks and Recreation Advisory Board page. The annual Chili Cook-off is GHS’s largest fundraising event. Enter your favorite chili in one of four categories, or just bring the family for all-you-can eat chili and shop the silent auction.

Tickets are $5 in advance and $7 at the door.

The Golden City Council meets in Council Chambers in City Hall every second and fourth Thursday at 6:30 p.m., unless rescheduled due to holidays or other events happening in the city.

The Golden Investment Forum Task Force is charged with outreach to the community to review the community amenities, enhancements, and improvements proposed in recent years to determine the amount of community support for these proposals.

Be on the lookout for news of one of the many public forums that will be scheduled as the year progresses. All committee meetings are open to the public.

The Downtown Development Authority (DDA) is a special district entity authorized and directed by state statute to benefit the economic and community vitality of the downtown area. The DDA will also be authorized to provide tax increment economic incentives to eligible redevelopment projects, much like GURA was able to do in the past.

The DDA meets on the third Monday of each month (unless otherwise noted on the calendar) at 6:30 p.m. in Council Chambers.

The Mobility & Transportation Advisory Board (MTAB) is a citizen advisory board focused on mobility and transportation issues in the City of Golden. The main duties of the board include traffic operations, school zone safety, traffic calming, planning and funding priorities for transportation and mobility capital improvements, and parking management systems.

Additionally, MTAB offers various advisory and collaborative duties dealing with transportation and mobility.

Learn more about C-PACE at an informational session this Wednesday, February 28 from 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Jefferson County Government Center Lookout Mountain Room.

C-PACE enables owners of eligible commercial and industrial buildings to finance up to 100% of energy efficiency, renewable energy, and water conservation eligible improvements. Financing is provided by private capital providers at competitive rates with repayment terms up to 20 years. Tracy Phillips, the Director of the CO C-PACE program will discuss what C-PACE is, and how it can help you finance your energy efficiency and renewable energy projects using this compelling financing mechanism. The Local Liquor Licensing Authority meets on the third Tuesday of each month, unless otherwise noted. These meetings are open to the public and take place in City Council Chambers, 911 10th Street at 2:30 p.m.

The Board is comprised of a Hearing Officer, who is appointed by City Council.

The mission of the Community Sustainability Advisory Board (CSAB) is to assist the City of Golden in achieving the ten-year sustainability goals. In order to facilitate achievement of these goals, the Board will lead, encourage, enable, and empower the citizens, visitors, and people who work in Golden, to live in a sustainable manner.

The Community Sustainability Advisory Board will meet on the fourth Wednesday of each month from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., unless rescheduled for holidays or a lack of quorum. Meetings are open to the public. This meeting is their annual retreat, which will begin at 3 p.m. and end at 9 p.m.
