Kids Bike Rodeo – Free Event! @ Coors Tek Parking Lot

Kids Bike RodeoGet a safe start to summer! The City of Golden is partnering with Bicycle Colorado for a Kids’ Bike Rodeo. The event will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, June 16, 2018 at the Coors Tek parking lot at the corner of 10th and Jackson Streets (across the street from Parfet Park).

Children do not need to bring bikes, but should bring helmets if they have them. Bicycle Colorado will assist with proper helmet fitting for children. This is a great opportunity for children to learn safe riding techniques. Bike rodeos are recommended for children ages 4 to 13. Bicycles and striders will be provided. Children can come anytime and go through the course as many times as they like!

The event is completely free.

National Night Out 2018 @ Parfet Park

National Night OutJoin your neighbors and the Golden police for a fun, family event that brings citizens and law enforcement together in a partnership to form a stronger and safer community. National Night Out is designed to heighten crime and drug prevention awareness and generate discussion, education, support and participation in crime prevention efforts.

So lock your doors, turn on your porch lights and come out on August 7, 2018 from 5 to 8 p.m. to enjoy free food, entertainment, interactive displays and the always popular landing of the Flight for Life helicopter!

Dash at the Splash Kids Triathlon 2018 @ The Splash Aquatic Park

Dash at the Splash Kid’s Triathlon event is designed to be a fun challenge for the up and coming tri-athlete in your family! This event will be held at The Splash water park in Golden on August 11, beginning at 8 a.m.

The event is open to children twelve years of age and under. Children are broken down into age groups of 8 and under, 9 to 10 year olds, and 11 to 12 year olds, and the age categories will determine the distances in each event that the child will complete. The event is designed to promote healthy active lifestyles in children.

$30 early registration (before July 27)
$35 late registration (after July 27) ***shirt size is not guaranteed
Bags can be picked up Saturday, August 11 at race check in from 6:30 to 7:30 a.m.

Triathlon Distances (approximate)

8 & under: 50 meter swim, 1.35 mile bike, 1/2 mile run
9-10 years: 100 meter swim, 2.7 mile bike, 1 mile run
11-12 years: 150 meter swim, 4 mile bike, 1 ½ mile run

Trick or Treat Train @ Colorado Railroad Museum

CRMIt’s full steam ahead for tricks, treats and trains at the Colorado Railroad Museum!

The Railroad Halloween Town is a safe place to enjoy Trick or Treating. Catch a ride behind a historic Denver & Rio Grande Steam Locomotive in vintage passenger cars hosted by conductors and engineers in full costume.

Visit all of the special stops to fill your treat bags and tickle your funny bones including the “not so spooky” Haunted Railcar and the Olde Railroaders Silly Graveyard. Enjoy local food, kettle corn, shaved ice and even get your face painted. Finally, get a great picture of your costume as you pose in front of the Pumpkin Patch cart. Admission: Museum members and Children under 2 are free, Children $5, Adults $15 and Seniors $10. 

Admission includes unlimited rides on the Steam Engine as well as entertainment throughout the grounds. The CRM will be open to the public on October 27 and 28 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. with entertainment and events running 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
