2019 Gathering of the Guilds @ American Mountaineering Museum

Gathering of the GuildsThe Colorado Arts & Crafts Society presents a day of demonstrations, workshops and presentations from local artisans. There will also be an opportunity to purchase artists’ wares, including everything from ceramics to jewelry to woodwork.

This year, vendors will include Annalee’s Naturals, Beth Bradford Studio, Black Birch Studio, Book Arts League, The Bungalow Craft By Julie Leidel, Chinook Pottery, Colorado Calligraphers’ Guild, Colorado Woodworkers Guild, Golden Moon Distillery, Guild of Bookworkers, Handweavers Guild of Boulder; Julie Fletcher Interior Design, Mission West, Nikki Nienhuis Fine Art, Rocky Mountain Marquetry Guild, Rocky Mountain Metalsmiths, Rocky Mountain Silk Painters, Rocky Mountain Society of Botanical Artists and 2R Fine Arts Appraisals.

2019 Easter Egg Hunt @ Parfet Park

Easter Egg HuntThe Golden Kiwanis, with the assistance of their sponsored youth (Builders Club, Key Club, and Circle K) along with the Golden Chamber of Commerce and local merchants provide thousands of stuffed plastic eggs for the kids of Golden to enjoy at Easter.

On the morning of the hunt, eggs are spread throughout Parfet Park with different areas for different age groups. Once the bell sounds, kids clean the park in 30 seconds or less and head into downtown for more activities, so don’t be late!

Envisioning the Future of Golden Community Workshop @ Foothills Art Center

The City of Golden, in partnership with Golden United and the Foothills Art Center, invite you to a community workshop to discuss the future of Golden. We will talk about visions for Golden and how we can manage development to align with key goals, including preserving our small town character, access to affordable housing, and sustainability.

Together, we will brainstorm options for regulating land-use and development, as well as strategies for strengthening communication and engagement of residents in planning and zoning processes.

The community workshop will be held at Foothills Art Center, 809 15th St, on Tuesday, June 4, from 6 to 8:30 p.m.

Toby’s Pet Parade & Fair @ Downtown Golden

Toby's Pet Parade Fire DogDress up your pup and join about 2,000 other animal lovers for a parade and fair in downtown Golden.

Hundreds of pups in costume will stroll down Washington Avenue and end in Parfet Park for a family-friendly fair.

The parade is free to watch, while parade entrants are $25 per pup. Proceeds of this annual event benefit the more than 12,000 animals that Foothills Animal Shelter cares for annually.

Helping Kids Thrive Parent Conference & Community Wellness Fair @ Bell Middle School

Golden Helping Kids Thrive Parent ConferenceThe Rotary Club of Golden and Jefferson Center have joined forces to present a free event at Bell Middle School, 1001 Ulysses Street on October 3 from 5 to 8:45 p.m. for the Golden community, providing resources and hands-on practical information for parents, caregivers and guardians to help children of all ages grow in positive ways.
Participants can choose two classes from a number of educational opportunities available. While adults learn from expert educators, children will enjoy fun, supervised activities, and a light dinner. Drinks and sandwiches will be served to all participants.

The GHS varsity football game kicks off at 7 p.m. at Marv Kay Stadium, Colorado School of Mines campus.

2019 Candlelight Walk @ Foothills Art Center

Candlelight WalkExperience the beauty of the holiday season as you walk through downtown Golden, candle in hand, singing holiday carols during this annual tradition. Santa and Mrs. Claus will be on hand for photos before the walk, then gather at 6 p.m. at the Foothills Art Center, 809 15th St. on Friday, December 6. The walk begins at 6:30 p.m. down to the Visitors Center for a holiday show, the countdown to the lighting of the lights by Mayor Marjorie Sloan, and a short fireworks display from the roof of the Golden Hotel.

Enjoy the lights that will shine all along Washington Avenue and Clear Creek, along with various activities for everyone to enjoy.
