Are you a business or nonprofit looking to connect? Coors, NREL, Bob’s Atomic Burgers, Connect Workspace, Powder 7, and Wells Fargo will discuss their approaches to corporate philanthropy and collaboration with Golden nonprofits. Join the discussion at noon on Wednesday, March 20, in Council Chambers.

The objectives of the panel are to: 1) Help businesses and nonprofits in Golden get to know one another better; 2) Identify collaborative or partnership opportunities; 3) Explore tools that our community could use to connect businesses to nonprofits; and 4) Explore ways to
track the volunteer hours that businesses and residents provide to nonprofits. Panelists include Bob’s Atomic Burgers, Connects Workspace, Coors, NREL, Powder 7 and Wells Fargo.

The Golden Kiwanis, with the assistance of their sponsored youth (Builders Club, Key Club, and Circle K) along with the Golden Chamber of Commerce and local merchants provide thousands of stuffed plastic eggs for the kids of Golden to enjoy at Easter.

On the morning of the hunt, eggs are spread throughout Parfet Park with different areas for different age groups. Once the bell sounds, kids clean the park in 30 seconds or less and head into downtown for more activities, so don’t be late!

The City will conduct a public hearing to consider information concerning the execution and delivery by the City of a Lease Purchase Agreement of the 160,000 square foot office building on a 3.5 acre parcel of land located at 311 Tenth Street. The City plans to turn the building into a Civic Center.

Now in its 36^th Year, Leadership Golden is accepting applications for the 2019-20 Program.  This tuition-free program provides local learning about Golden with 11 sessions that run from Sept. 7 to May 7, 2020.  Topics include Golden history, government, public works, finance, growth and development, education, arts and recreation, and the justice system.  Great program for newcomers and long-time residents interested in the fabric of Golden.  Visit leadershipgolden.org for all the details and complete an application form online.  The application deadline is July 31.

To meet with the Leadership Golden Board of Directors, Steering Committee, and Alumni, you are invited to attend the “Meet and Greet” reception from 5:50 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, July 16 at the Old Capitol Grill, 12th & Washington.  Complimentary appetizers and a cash bar will be provided.

Experience the beauty of the holiday season as you walk through downtown Golden, candle in hand, singing holiday carols during this annual tradition. Santa and Mrs. Claus will be on hand for photos before the walk, then gather at 6 p.m. at the Foothills Art Center, 809 15th St. on Friday, December 6. The walk begins at 6:30 p.m. down to the Visitors Center for a holiday show, the countdown to the lighting of the lights by Mayor Marjorie Sloan, and a short fireworks display from the roof of the Golden Hotel.

Enjoy the lights that will shine all along Washington Avenue and Clear Creek, along with various activities for everyone to enjoy.

Join the Golden Chamber of Commerce for pancakes with Santa! The event is from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 7 at Calvary Church, 1320 Arapahoe St. It’s a wonderful way to celebrate the season with your little ones. Breakfast includes pancakes, orange juice, and coffee. All kids will receive a goody bag as part of the experience.

Santa and Mrs. Claus will be there to listen to all of those wish lists! There will be Carol singing with Alli Coffey and holiday readings by Golden Children’s Librarian, Emily Vrotsos. Celebrity chefs from the Golden Volunteer Fire Department and Calvary Episcopal Church will cook up the breakfast.

Tickets must be purchased in advance at www.goldenchamber.org. Adults are $10, kids are $5, and children under three are free. No tickets will be sold at the door. A portion of the proceeds from Breakfast with Santa will go to the Golden Fire Foundation and Lunch and Life program for the Colorado School of mines free lunch program. Come do some Christmas Shopping at the Annual Golden High School Holiday Bazaar held by the PTA of Golden High. With one-of-a-kind gifts from over 90 different local artists, you can make a big dent on your holiday shopping list.

This is a fund raiser for the students at Golden High School, helping with scholarships, after prom party, grants, and more.

The Holiday Bazaar will be held at the Golden High School, 701 24th St, Golden on Saturday, December 7 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Includes free parking and admission.
