The Historic Preservation Board has a number of responsibilities regarding the preservation and upkeep of Golden’s many historic sites.
The Board meets on the first Monday evening of each month in public hearing in the City Council Chambers at 6:30 p.m. unless otherwise noted on the calendar. Study sessions may be scheduled the third Monday of each month.

The Mobility & Transportation Advisory Board offers a venue to evaluate the relationship between mobility of all types and the economy, sustainability, safety, land use, neighborhood integrity, and emergency response times; and study the importance of transportation access to health care, employment, education, housing, business, and recreational facilities.
The MTAB will meet in study session on the first Tuesday of each month at 6 p.m. in the Public Works Building unless otherwise noted.
The Golden City Council meets in Council Chambers in City Hall every second and fourth Thursday at 6:30 p.m., unless rescheduled due to holidays or other events happening in the city.

May 11, 2019 is the 27th annual Letter Carrier’s Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive, when postal workers all over the country collect food from patrons on their routes and deliver those contributions to local community food banks.
To participate, simply put non-perishable food in a sack next to your mailbox in the morning and your donation will be collected and used to help fellow Golden residents in need.
Join the City of Golden for our Annual Greener Golden celebration to kick-off the growing season on Saturday, May 11 from noon to 3 p.m. at the City of Golden Public Works Administrative building and the Golden Community Garden. Parking is available at 1445 10th St.

- Tour the Golden Community Garden and learn about opportunities to participate.
- Learn about the City’s Sustainability programs, including water conservation and free sprinkler inspections.
- Find out how to deal with your green waste and how best to divert these materials from the landfill.
If you have not ordered your Garden In A Box yet, visit ResourceCentral.org/Gardens to find your perfect garden. Gardens are on sale for a limited time and supplies are limited.
Customers who subscribe to the City of Golden’s trash service through Alpine Waste can participate in the semi-annual spring yard waste collection from May 13 to 17.
Yard waste will be collected by a separate truck on your designated trash collection day and should be placed at or near where your trash is collected by 7 a.m.
Place material in reusable containers of your choice, or in compostable bags available from home improvement stores. Yard waste for this collection is limited to grass clippings, pine needles, leaves, weeds, branches, sawdust, ground and chipped wood. The Golden Safety Academy was created to help educate and empower citizens with information and resources that enhance their personal safety and crime prevention. This free academy is held once a month from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on the second Monday of every month in the Golden Fire Department. You may attend one, several or all sessions.

The Golden Urban Renewal Authority (GURA) implements urban renewal projects consistent with community values.

The Economic Development Commission (EDComm) was established by Golden City Council in June of 1999 and consists of eight members. The purpose of the Economic Development Commission is to provide leadership, education, and the tools necessary for the Golden community to optimize appropriate economic opportunities. Their duties include developing a structure and strategy for marketing/promoting the Golden community.
