Buffalo Bill Days 2019
Jul 25 all-day
Buffalo Bill Days 2018The annual Buffalo Bill Days celebration dates back to the 1940’s as a trail ride up Lookout Mountain to Buffalo Bill’s grave.

Over the years the celebration has expanded with more activities and multiple days of fun — it is now the largest community festival held in Golden. The event draws many people from surrounding communities who enjoy bringing their families to a wholesome, small-town community event.

This year’s activities include Cody’s Wild West, the “Best of the West” theme Parade, Muttin’ Bustin’, live music, a car show, a golf tournament, food and merchandise vendors and much more.

GFD Pancake Breakfast @ Golden Fire Station
Jul 27 @ 6:00 am – 10:00 am

Pancake breakfast videoWho better to fire up the griddle than Golden’s Firefighters! Don’t miss out on their tasty pancakes and bacon. Invite your friends and family to join you on the morning of Saturday, July 27, at the Golden Fire Station, 911 10th St., to fuel up your belly before heading to the Buffalo Bill Days parade.

The breakfast begins at 6 a.m. and lasts until just before the Buffalo Bill Days parade at 10 a.m. This is a great opportunity for you to get to meet Golden’s first responders in a fun and interactive way. Last year, 55 members of the Golden Fire family helped out at the event, and they served around 1,700 people!

Purchase your tickets at the fire station ahead of time or the morning of the breakfast. Suggested donations are $8 for adults and $6 for kids under 12. Keep in mind that the biggest crowds are between 8:45 and 9:45 a.m., so try to come early. Funds raised at the breakfast go toward advanced training, equipment, and other support services for the mostly-volunteer Golden Fire Department.

Movies & Music in the Park 2019 @ Parfet Park
Aug 2 @ 7:00 pm

How to Train Your Dragon 3The first four Fridays of August will feature family-friendly movies and music for free in Parfet Park. This week we’re featuring the popular Dreamworks lesson on How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World along with the music of Half Pint & the Growlers, a tasty brew of Swing, Gypsy, Twang and Soul.

Each week, the bands begin performing at 7 p.m. and the featured movie will start rolling at dusk, generally around 8:30 p.m. The movies are shown on a giant screen under the stars.

Bring blankets or low-slung chairs, and make yourself comfortable! If you need to sit up high in a regular height chair, however, please be courteous of those sitting on the ground, and keep to the edges of the crowd. This year we’ve dedicated the front area to blankets only, so please look for the signs. Come early and bring a picnic dinner, or enjoy food and drinks from local vendors. A number of vendors will be on site to offer tasty selections such as pizza, ice cream and sodas. Then, of course, save room, because what’s a movie without hot, buttery popcorn?

Dogs are welcome, just keep them on a leash. And please leave your adult beverages at home – this is an alcohol- and tobacco-free event. Regular park rules apply.

See our Movies & Music in the Park page for a full line-up of coming attractions this August!
