Golden Safety Academy PosterThe Golden Safety Academy was created to help educate and empower citizens with information and resources that enhance their personal safety and crime prevention. This free academy is held once a month from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on the second Monday of every month in the Golden Fire Department. You may attend one, several or all sessions.

Local Liquor Licensing Authority Meeting @ Council Chambers

The Local Liquor Licensing Authority meets on the third Tuesday of each month, unless otherwise noted. These meetings are open to the public and take place in City Council Chambers, 911 10th Street at 2:30 p.m.

The Board is comprised of a Hearing Officer, who is appointed by City Council.

Parks, Recreation & Museums Advisory Board Meeting @ Council Chambers

The Parks, Recreation & Museums Advisory Board was created to increase community involvement, and to advise Golden City Council and staff on how to best provide safe and comprehensive parks and recreation facilities, programs, and services on behalf of all current and future residents of the City of Golden.

The board makes suggestions about policies and procedures, fees and charges, acceptance of park land, design of parks, and other projects relating to the Parks and Recreation Department.

Citizen Budget Advisory Committee @ Virtual Meeting

The Citizens Budget Advisory Committee (CBAC) was created by the City Manager to advise City staff on the development, implementation, and evaluation of the annual City budget. Participation in CBAC is an opportunity not only to advise on the prioritization of how City tax dollars are spent, but also to advise our policymakers in their decision-making process.

CBAC meets the third Wednesday of each month, March through October and the second Wednesday of November, at 7:30 a.m.

Build your library and find amazing deals with prices starting at just 50 cents, all while supporting the Jefferson County Library Foundation.

Shop for gently used, new and antique books, along with DVDs, CDs, and records for children and adults.

The sale opens to the public on Friday, October 18 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. with free admission, or pay $10 for Early Bird Admission at 8 a.m.  On Saturday, the sale is again open from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m., and teachers, Friends of JCPL and Jeffco Employees enjoy 50% savings on purchases. October 20, the final day of the sale runs from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Nonprofit Expo @ Golden High School

Nonprofit Expo on Oct 20 from 1 - 3pmGolden is home to many nonprofits that benefit our community. Art, history, hiking, biking, home rehab, feeding the hungry — our nonprofits do it all to make our community stronger and collaboration is key.

Stop by Golden High School on October 20 from 1 to 3 p.m. to meet nonprofit representatives and pick up information on their projects and goals.
