City Council Virtual Town Hall Meeting with GHS Students @ Council Chambers

During the Thursday evening City Council meeting, Council will conduct a public hearing to amend Chapters 4.96 and 8.04 of the Golden Municipal Code regarding the regulation of nicotine and tobacco products by 1) increasing the age of purchase or consumption to over 21 years of age 2) banning the sale of all flavored nicotine and tobacco products and nicotine-free vapor products and 3) expanding Golden’s current tobacco licensing program to include all nicotine or tobacco products.

At 10 a.m. that morning, prior to the meeting, Council will conduct a virtual town hall meeting with Golden High School students to better understand their viewpoints on the issue.

Olde Golden Christmas Parade 2019 @ Washington Ave. in Downtown Golden

Santa rides on a float and waves in the Olde Golden Christmas ParadeOn Saturdays in December, authentic and historic downtown Golden becomes a festive holiday center. Join in the holiday spirit and watch floats, clowns, festive holiday characters, and Santa Claus on the firetruck parade down Washington Avenue. After the parades, head to the downtown area shops and restaurants. Each parade is different, providing the perfect reason to bring the family back to Golden again and again!

The route is down Washington Avenue from 11th to 13th Streets through historic downtown, with lots of activities before and after. The parades are presented by the Golden Chamber of Commerce. Go to www.VisitGolden.com for more information.

Regular City Council Meeting @ Council Chambers

The Golden City Council meets in Council Chambers in City Hall every second and fourth Thursday at 6:30 p.m., unless rescheduled due to holidays or other events happening in the City.

Join us for this special meeting as the Golden City Clerk swears in three people to Council positions. Laura Weinberg will be sworn in as Mayor, JJ Trout will be sworn in as District One Councilor, and Casey Brown will continue a second term as District Two Councilor.

Hunger Free Golden Community Conversation @ Golden Community Center

Hunger Free Golden logoJoin us for a community conversation on Wednesday, January 15 from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. in the Golden Community Center to learn about the results of our recent food assessment. You’ll also have the opportunity to give your input on strategies to increase food security in our community.
