5th Annual Jeffco International Women’s Day 2020 @ Baldoria on the Water

International Women's Day in Jeffco 2020 logoCelebrate women at the 5th annual Jeffco International Women’s Day on March 3 at Baldoria on the Water, 146 Van Gordon Street in Lakewood. The event is sponsored by SCL Health Lutheran and the City of Golden, with additional corporate sponshorships from Genesee Mountain Foundation, IX Power Clean Water, and corporate contributor, Coach Stacy’s Healthy U. Proceeds will benefit Porchlight Family Justice Center and the Jefferson County Library Foundation.

CU Regent Heidi Ganahl & founder of “Camp Bow Wow” will be the keynote speaker at this event during lunch. The winner of the “Unsung Heroine” Award will be announced as well, and Marjorie Sloan will be presented with the “Shattered Glass” Award. Come early to network and learn “The truth about personal & cyber security  today from a genuine, female Denver FBI agent”.

Leadership GoldenJoin the Leadership Golden Board of Directors, Steering Committee, and Alumni, for a “Meet and Greet” reception on Thursday, July 15 from 5 to 6:30 p.m. at Café 13 (1301 Arapahoe St). Complimentary appetizers and a cash bar will be provided.
Now in its 38th year, Leadership Golden is accepting applications for the 2021-22 program.
This tuition-free program provides local learning about Golden with 11 sessions from September through April, including Golden history, government, public works, finance, development, education, arts, recreation, and more. This is a great program for new-comers and long-term residents interested in the fabric of Golden. Visit www.leadershipgolden.org for all the details and to complete an application form online. 15th Annual Golden Gallop @ Downtown Golden and Virtual

Golden GallopThis year the Golden Gallop will offer a HYBRID event, with an in-person race on September 19, or an option to complete a race during a ‘virtual’ race window from Sept. 11 to Sept. 19. Choose from multiple race options, including a Kid’s Fun Run, a 5K and a 10K. Whether in-person or virtual, kids, families, and friends from all over are encouraged to participate. The event raises funds for the Golden Schools Foundation which provides educational funding for seven Golden articulation schools.

GPD Hosts Pictures with Santa @ Golden Community Center

Santa lowers his glasses and says Golden PD Ho, ho, hosts...Santa is coming to visit the Golden Police Department, Wednesday, Dec. 8, from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Golden Community Center, 1470 10th St.

Come and meet Golden Police Officers, Elves from the North Pole, and get your picture taken with Santa!

Kids, bring your letters to Santa! Officers will be collecting letters and making sure Santa receives them.

There will be FREE cookies, coloring, crafts, and lots more!

COVID-19: Child Holiday-Themed Masks will be available. Photographs will be taken OUTSIDE. Santa is fully vaccinated. The Jefferson County Board of Health has issued Public Health Order 21-006, which requires all individuals ages 3 and older to wear a mask or cloth face covering when in indoor public spaces in Jefferson County, regardless of vaccination status.

2022 Annual Easter Egg Hunt @ Parfet Park

Easter Egg HuntThe Kiwanis Club and the Golden Chamber of Commerce will host their annual Easter Egg hunt this year on April 16 at 10 a.m. in Parfet Park.

On the morning of the hunt, thousands of plastic eggs are spread throughout Parfet Park with different areas for different age groups. Once the bell sounds, kids clean the park in no time, so don’t be late!

All kids up to the age of 10 are welcome to participate.

National Night Out 2023 @ Parfet Park

Golden National Night Out happens Aug 1 2023Turn on your porch lights, lock your doors, and join the Golden Police Department for the 2023 National Night Out event from 5 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, August 1 in Parfet Park on the corner of 10th Street and Washington Avenue. Bring the whole family for face painting, crime prevention tips, food, and fun. The Flight for Life Helicopter will land at 7 p.m., provided they are not on a service call.

National Night Out is an annual community event that promotes police-community partnerships in a fun and relaxing environment.
