The Mobility & Transportation Advisory Board offers a venue to evaluate the relationship between mobility of all types and the economy, sustainability, safety, land use, neighborhood integrity, and emergency response times; and study the importance of transportation access to health care, employment, education, housing, business, and recreational facilities.
MTAB meets on the fourth Thursday of each month at 6 p.m. unless otherwise noted.
The zoning code rewrite consultants are making the finishing touches to the initial code draft and it will be available to the public in late January. You are invited to join a virtual community meeting on Jan. 28 from 6 to 8 p.m. This meeting is intended to educate the community on the code’s contents and how it has been constructed. Upon the release of the draft, the community will have approximately one month to review it, make comments, and provide those comments to the Planning Division and the consultants for consideration.

The Historic Preservation Board has a number of responsibilities regarding the preservation and upkeep of Golden’s many historic sites.
The Board meets on the first Monday evening of each month in public hearing at 6:30 p.m. unless otherwise noted on the calendar. Study sessions may be scheduled the third Monday of each month.

The Planning Commission, established in 1948, affords residents the opportunity to actively participate in the planning of the City and its welfare; to learn all facets of the regulations governing such functions; interact with a wide variety of citizens participating in the shaping of Golden’s future; and assume an active role in any regulation changes involving zoning and subdivision activity.

The Public Art Commission (PAC) has the responsibility of promoting, selecting, acquiring and maintaining public art in the fulfillment of the City’s Art in Public Places program.
PAC meets on the first Thursday of each month from 9 to 10:30 a.m. These meeting are open to the public.

The Economic Development Commission (EDComm) was established by Golden City Council in June of 1999 and consists of seven members. The purpose of the Economic Development Commission is to provide leadership, education, and the tools necessary for the Golden community to optimize appropriate economic opportunities. Their duties include developing a structure and strategy for marketing/promoting the Golden community.

The Economic Development Commission meets regularly on the second Thursday of each month starting at 6:30 p.m. If a meeting must be rescheduled for some reason, the date will be noted on the Community Calendar and on the agendas page.

The Local Liquor Licensing Authority meets on the third Tuesday of each month, unless otherwise noted. These meetings begin at 2:30 p.m.
The Board is comprised of a Hearing Officer, who is appointed by City Council.
