Community Sustainability Advisory Board Meeting

Golden Sustainability logoThe mission of the Community Sustainability Advisory Board (CSAB) is to assist the City of Golden in achieving the ten-year sustainability goals. In order to facilitate achievement of these goals, the Board will lead, encourage, enable, and empower the citizens, visitors, and people who work in Golden, to live in a sustainable manner.

The Community Sustainability Advisory Board will meet on the fourth Wednesday of each month from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., unless rescheduled for holidays or a lack of quorum. Meetings are open to the public.

Mobility & Transportation Advisory Board Meeting

The Mobility & Transportation Advisory Board offers a venue to evaluate the relationship between mobility of all types and the economy, sustainability, safety, land use, neighborhood integrity, and emergency response times; and study the importance of transportation access to health care, employment, education, housing, business, and recreational facilities.

MTAB meets on the fourth Thursday of each month at 6 p.m. unless otherwise noted.

Community Listening Session: Houselessness Edition @ Council Chambers
Jun 28 @ 6:00 pm – 7:30 pm

Come share your questions, ideas, and thoughts about issues involving our Houseless community with city leadership.

The first meeting will be June 28 from 6 to to 7:30 p.m. in Council Chambers and online. The meeting’s focus is the City listening to your feedback on the topic.

This will be a hybrid in person/virtual meeting. If you are comfortable join us in person at City Hall, 911 10th Street. If you prefer to join us virtually, please use this link to join the meeting.

The second meeting will be August 3 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. in Council Chambers and online. The second meeting’s focus is for the City to respond and talk about what some of the causes of homelessness locally and what the City is doing about it. We will have a panel to speak on the topic including our Police Chief, Homeless Navigator, the City’s legal counsel,  community representatives, and more. Learn more at:  www.GuidingGolden.com.

NOTE: The Historic Preservation Board meeting originally scheduled for July 5 has been rescheduled to June 28.

You can join the meeting virtually  or attend in person at the Public Works Building, 1445 10th Street.

The Historic Preservation Board has a number of responsibilities regarding the preservation and upkeep of Golden’s many historic sites.

The Board meets on the first Monday evening of each month in public hearing at 6:30 p.m. unless otherwise noted on the calendar. Study sessions may be scheduled the third Monday of each month.

The hiring fair, organized in partnership with the City of Golden, Golden Chamber of Commerce, VisitGolden.com, and the Jefferson County Business & Workforce Center, will feature booths and provide a list of area participating businesses that are an easy walk away. Apply that day for jobs from a variety of Golden hospitality businesses!

Public Art Commission Meeting

The Public Art Commission (PAC) has the responsibility of promoting, selecting, acquiring and maintaining public art in the fulfillment of the City’s Art in Public Places program.

PAC meets on the first Thursday of each month from 9 to 10:30 a.m. These meeting are open to the public.

Planning Commission Meeting

The Planning Commission, established in 1948, affords residents the opportunity to actively participate in the planning of the City and its welfare; to learn all facets of the regulations governing such functions; interact with a wide variety of citizens participating in the shaping of Golden’s future; and assume an active role in any regulation changes involving zoning and subdivision activity.

Economic Development Commission Meeting

The Economic Development Commission (EDComm) was established by Golden City Council in June of 1999 and consists of seven members. The purpose of the Economic Development Commission is to provide leadership, education, and the tools necessary for the Golden community to optimize appropriate economic opportunities. Their duties include developing a structure and strategy for marketing/promoting the Golden community.

The Economic Development Commission meets regularly on the second Thursday of each month starting at 6:30 p.m. If a meeting must be rescheduled for some reason, the date will be noted on the Community Calendar and on the agendas page.

 Golden was named after Thomas L. Golden,
a gold prospector who arrived in Jefferson County in 1858.
