Movies & Music in the Park 2021 @ Parfet Park
Aug 27 @ 7:00 pm

Star Wars - The Rise of Skywalker with music by Los CheesiesMovies and Music in the Park is back this year!

The last three Fridays of August feature family-friendly movies and music for free in Parfet Park. This week we bring you Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker along with the music of Los Cheesies.

Each week, the bands begin performing at 7 p.m. and the featured movie will start rolling at dusk, generally around 8:30 p.m. The movies are shown on a giant screen under the stars.

Bring blankets or low-slung chairs, and make yourself comfortable! If you need to sit up high in a regular height chair, however, please be courteous of those sitting on the ground, and keep to the edges of the crowd. We’ve dedicated the front area to blankets only, so please look for the signs. Come early and bring a picnic dinner, or enjoy food and drinks from local vendors.

Dogs are welcome, just keep them on a leash. And please leave your adult beverages at home – this is an alcohol-free and tobacco-free event. Regular park rules apply.

See our Movies & Music in the Park page for a full line-up of coming attractions this August!

September 11th – 20th Anniversary Remembrance @ Parfet Park
Sep 11 @ 9:30 am – 10:15 am

20 years ago, our nation watched in horror as four commercial airliners were hijacked and directed towards major American institutions, including the World Trade Center and the Pentagon. That fateful day nearly 3,000 men, women, and children lost their lives and countless other families and loved ones felt the long-lasting impact of this tragedy.

Join Mayor Laura Weinberg and the brave members of the Golden Fire Department and the Golden Police Department for a September 11th 20th Anniversary Commemoration, as we pause and remember those lost on 9/11/2001, especially those public servants that gave the ultimate sacrifice that day in the service of others.

Gather in Parfet Park at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, September 11, 2021
