The Golden Bicycle Cruise is back in 2021!

The family-friendly event, sponsored by the Golden Community Commons group, takes place on the last Tuesday of the month, June through September.

New Location: Celebration Plaza next to the Golden Episcopal Church.

Check the theme and get your costume ready! Food, drink and music start at 5:30 p.m., the ride starts at 7 p.m.

Themes:

• June: “Hometown Heroes” with music by Marafiki
• July: “Red, White & Blue” with music by Chris Thompson and Friends
• August: “Disco/80’s” with music by Dorado
• September: “Zombies” with music by Weatherbee and the Gnarbillys

The Golden City Council meets every second and fourth Tuesday of the month at 6:30 p.m., unless rescheduled due to holidays or other events happening in the City.

The Historic Preservation Board has a number of responsibilities regarding the preservation and upkeep of Golden’s many historic sites.

The Board meets on the first Monday evening of each month in public hearing at 6:30 p.m. unless otherwise noted on the calendar. Study sessions may be scheduled the third Monday of each month.

The Planning Commission, established in 1948, affords residents the opportunity to actively participate in the planning of the City and its welfare; to learn all facets of the regulations governing such functions; interact with a wide variety of citizens participating in the shaping of Golden’s future; and assume an active role in any regulation changes involving zoning and subdivision activity.

The Public Art Commission (PAC) has the responsibility of promoting, selecting, acquiring and maintaining public art in the fulfillment of the City’s Art in Public Places program.

PAC meets on the first Thursday of each month from 9 to 10:30 a.m. These meeting are open to the public.

Presented by the Golden Chamber of Commerce and their partner, Coors Distributing Company, this is a fall tradition of all things chili and beer! Over 30 breweries and 100 brands of beer under the Coors Distributing Company umbrella of products will be showcased. All ticketed guests will receive a souvenir sampling beer glass.  Chili cooks compete for top prizes, taste your way through the event and vote for your favorites in each category – Red, Green and Other! Event is Rain or Shine!
