Historic Preservation Board Meeting

The Historic Preservation Board has a number of responsibilities regarding the preservation and upkeep of Golden’s many historic sites.

The Board meets on the first Monday evening of each month in public hearing at 6:30 p.m. unless otherwise noted on the calendar. Study sessions may be scheduled the third Monday of each month.

Planning Commission Meeting

The Planning Commission, established in 1948, affords residents the opportunity to actively participate in the planning of the City and its welfare; to learn all facets of the regulations governing such functions; interact with a wide variety of citizens participating in the shaping of Golden’s future; and assume an active role in any regulation changes involving zoning and subdivision activity.

Public Art Commission Meeting

The Public Art Commission (PAC) has the responsibility of promoting, selecting, acquiring and maintaining public art in the fulfillment of the City’s Art in Public Places program.

PAC meets on the first Thursday of each month from 9 to 10:30 a.m. These meeting are open to the public.

Golden Beer Tasting and Chili Cook-off @ Parfet Park

Presented by the Golden Chamber of Commerce and their partner, Coors Distributing Company, this is a fall tradition of all things chili and beer! Over 30 breweries and 100 brands of beer under the Coors Distributing Company umbrella of products will be showcased. All ticketed guests will receive a souvenir sampling beer glass.  Chili cooks compete for top prizes, taste your way through the event and vote for your favorites in each category – Red, Green and Other! Event is Rain or Shine!

LGAA Candidate Forum @ Council Chambers

2021 City Council Candidate ForumThe Leadership Golden Alumni Association (LGAA) is hosting a Candidate Forum in connection with this year’s Golden election of City Councilors. The forum will take place on Wednesday, Oct. 13 from 6 to 8 p.m. in City Council Chambers, 911 10th St.
The forum will allow each candidate to respond to questions developed by LGAA membership and the public, along with opening and closing statements. The Candidate Forum will also be broadcast live and re-broadcast on Cable Channel 8/880, and streamed live and on-demand at GCO.tv as well as the city website at www.cityofgolden.net/agendas. US6 & Heritage Road Interchange Open House #4 @ Virtual Meeting

The next US6 & Heritage Road Interchange Open House #4 happens on Wednesday, Oct. 13 at 6 p.m. The meeting is entirely virtual and requires pre-registration. After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the meeting.
This open house will include a presentation describing four alternatives for project aesthetics, and an opportunity for participants to ask questions and provide input.
If you are unable to attend, a video of the meeting along with meeting exhibits and opportunities to provide feedback will be available at www.GuidingGolden.com/us40.

Economic Development Commission Meeting

The Economic Development Commission (EDComm) was established by Golden City Council in June of 1999 and consists of seven members. The purpose of the Economic Development Commission is to provide leadership, education, and the tools necessary for the Golden community to optimize appropriate economic opportunities. Their duties include developing a structure and strategy for marketing/promoting the Golden community.

The Economic Development Commission meets regularly on the second Thursday of each month starting at 6:30 p.m. If a meeting must be rescheduled for some reason, the date will be noted on the Community Calendar and on the agendas page.

 Golden was named after Thomas L. Golden,
a gold prospector who arrived in Jefferson County in 1858.
