Sign up for the Metro Denver Green Homes Tour happening Saturday, Oct. 1 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. to visit over a dozen homes that showcase solutions and ideas for conserving energy and growing a more sustainable community.

There are a lot of events planned all day Saturday! Tour a “Tiny Home” at the American Mountaineering Center then stick around for a reception and Green Expo with food, drink and live music! You can also visit a “Growing Dome” and an “Electric Vehicle Round-Up” at other Golden locations.

Presented by the Golden Chamber of Commerce, in partnership with Coors Distributing Company, the Golden Beer Tasting & Chili Cook-Off is a celebration of all things beer, chili and fun!

Ticketed guests enjoy an afternoon of fun with unlimited beer and chili samples (as long as supplies last), entertainment, snack vendors and the Beer & Chili Awards Ceremony!

NOTE:  The event is rain or shine!  Come prepared for unpredictable Colorado fall weather and help support the Golden Chamber and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

Autumn Fest is a free celebration of Golden featuring hands-on activities for the whole family, including crafts, big trucks, and even farm animals. Join us to welcome the fall season at Golden History Museum (923 10th St.)

The Planning Commission, established in 1948, affords residents the opportunity to actively participate in the planning of the City and its welfare; to learn all facets of the regulations governing such functions; interact with a wide variety of citizens participating in the shaping of Golden’s future; and assume an active role in any regulation changes involving zoning and subdivision activity.

The Public Art Commission (PAC) has the responsibility of promoting, selecting, acquiring and maintaining public art in the fulfillment of the City’s Art in Public Places program.

PAC meets on the first Thursday of each month from 9 to 10:30 a.m. These meeting are open to the public.

The Golden Urban Renewal Authority (GURA) implements urban renewal projects consistent with community values.

The Golden Urban Renewal Authority meets on the second Monday of each month at 6:30 p.m. in Council Chambers and members of the public are welcome to attend. To learn more, visit our GURA page. The Golden City Council meets every second and fourth Tuesday of the month at 6:30 p.m. in Council Chambers (911 10th St.), unless rescheduled due to holidays or other events happening in the city.

The Historic Preservation Board has a number of responsibilities regarding the preservation and upkeep of Golden’s many historic sites.

The Board meets in Council Chambers on the second Wednesday evening of each month in public hearing at 6:30 p.m. unless otherwise noted on the calendar. Study sessions may be scheduled as needed.
