Downtown Development Authority (DDA) Meeting @ Council Chambers

DDAThe Downtown Development Authority (DDA) is a special district entity authorized and directed by state statute to benefit the economic and community vitality of the downtown area. The DDA will also be authorized to provide tax increment economic incentives to eligible redevelopment projects, much like GURA was able to do in the past.

The DDA meets the third Monday of each month at 5:30 p.m. unless otherwise noted on the calendar to accommodate holidays or other scheduling conflicts.

The Local Licensing Authority meets on the third Tuesday of each month, unless otherwise noted. These meetings begin at 2:30 p.m.

The Board is comprised of a Hearing Officer, who is appointed by City Council.

Planning Commission meets on the first and third Wednesday of each month at 6:30 p.m., unless otherwise noted on the calendar.

Net Zero Energy Code Project Update @ Council Chambers
Feb 29 @ 6:00 pm – 8:30 pm

The Community Sustainability Advisory Board invites you to join this special meeting on Thursday, February 29, 6 – 8:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers room at City Hall for an update of the Net Zero Energy Code project.

Since the Boards’ efforts last summer, a consultant has been hired and will present their findings at this meeting which will address:

  1. an evaluation of recent legal challenges to natural gas bans in other cities,
  2. a recommendation of a code strategy that could meet Golden’s energy goals in the context of emerging legal obstacles and
  3. an evaluation of the efficacy and feasibility of implementing a net zero energy code for new construction.

The consultant will be available to answer questions of Board members. This meeting is open to all interested members of the public and will be hosted in-person and will stream online on our Agendas & Meetings page.

A coffee cup sits near a laptop computer.Join your neighbors for Coffee with Councilors the first Saturday of the month at 10 a.m. in the Golden Community Center Bear Creek South room (1470 10th St.) unless otherwise noted on the calendar.

This month we’ll be joined by Nola Krajewski from the Golden Chamber of Commerce. Nola will present the mission and vision of the Chamber, and provide information about how the Chamber supports local businesses.
