The Golden Bicycle Cruise is back in 2021!

The family-friendly event, sponsored by the Golden Community Commons group, takes place on the last Tuesday of the month, June through September. Golden Bike Cruise

New Location: Celebration Plaza next to the Golden Episcopal Church.

Check the theme and get your costume ready! Food, drink and music start at 5:30 p.m., the ride starts at 7 p.m.

Golden Beer Tasting and Chili Cook-off @ Parfet Park

Presented by the Golden Chamber of Commerce and their partner, Coors Distributing Company, this is a fall tradition of all things chili and beer! Over 30 breweries and 100 brands of beer under the Coors Distributing Company umbrella of products will be showcased. All ticketed guests will receive a souvenir sampling beer glass.  Chili cooks compete for top prizes, taste your way through the event and vote for your favorites in each category – Red, Green and Other! The forum will allow each candidate to respond to questions developed by LGAA membership and the public, along with opening and closing statements. The next US6 & Heritage Road Interchange Open House #4 happens on Wednesday, Oct. 13 at 6 p.m. The meeting is entirely virtual and requires pre-registration. After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the meeting.
This open house will include a presentation describing four alternatives for project aesthetics, and an opportunity for participants to ask questions and provide input.

Rocky Mountain Storytelling Presents “A Tiny Storyfest” @ American Mountaineering Center

The Rocky Mountain Storytellers are back in person with a Tiny Storyfest at the American Mountaineering Center, 710 10th St. in Golden on Oct. 23.

It’s Storytellers, Story Listeners, and Story Lovers creating events that perpetuate the art of oral storytelling.

Tiny Storyfest Features:

  • A mini-concert of four stellar Rocky Mountain Storytellers with years of story savvy. A mini-concert (not a slam) of four slammin’ successful slam tellers.
  • Eight storytellers will do a short “story of their story” after telling – whatever they choose to share about the “hows” and “whys” of their story.
  • A guided group dive into what YOU want to know about storytelling.
  • A fun slam with a theme: First Times.  Come cheer folks on or put your name in the hat with your choice of a personal story or a traditional tale.

Purchase tickets online for $10. Includes both daytime activities and the evening slam!

Veterans Day Ceremony @ US Marine Corps Memorial

The United States Marine Corps Memorial Foundation will hold the annual ceremony for Veterans Day on US Marine Corps Memorial LogoSaturday, November 6 at 2 p.m.

The ceremony, honoring veterans and the 100 year anniversary of the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, will feature Guest Speaker Cmdr. Jason Pratt, USN (Retired) along with a music program. The 13 US troops fallen on August 26th will also be honored, and a parade float of the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier will be on site.

This year the USMC Memorial has been expanded to collect donations for the Toys for Tots program.

Bring your donations for the Toys for Tots donation drop-off from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Arrive early; parking is available in the commercial lots across the street.

Olde Golden Candlelight Walk @ Foothills Art Center

Candlelight NightsExperience the beauty of the holiday season with a walk down Washington Ave., candle in hand, singing carols this Friday, Dec. 3.

The pre-walk holiday show starts at 5 p.m. on the stage at 10th and Washington. The walk starts at 6:30 p.m. at Foothills Art Center on 15th St. and will culminate with a short, live entertainment program, and lighting of the lights.
