The City of Golden and Weedbuster volunteers invite you to DeLong Park (395 23rd Street) to Celebrate Earth Day, learn about the pesticide free park and the native plants that live there.

There will be games for children, exploration learning, giveaways and more.

The Golden Planning Commission affords residents the opportunity to actively participate in the planning of the city and its welfare; to learn all facets of the regulations governing such functions; interact with a wide variety of citizens participating in the shaping of Golden’s future; and assume an active role in any regulation changes involving zoning and subdivision activity.

Planning Commission meets on the first and third Wednesday of each month at 6:30 p.m., unless otherwise noted on the calendar.

The Public Art Commission (PAC) has the responsibility of promoting, selecting, acquiring and maintaining public art in the fulfillment of the City’s Art in Public Places program.

PAC meets on the first Thursday of each month from 9 to 10:30 a.m. These meeting are open to the public.

The REDI (Race, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion) Task Force is composed of community members and city staff who have a key role in implementing aspects of the REDI Action Plan, finalized by the City in November of 2022.

The Task Force focuses on promoting accountability for implementing the REDI Action Plan and coordinating community-wide efforts to advance equity.

The task force meets monthly in the Public Works Building (1445 10th Street) on the first Thursday of the month from 4:30 to 6 p.m. The public is welcome to attend.

Join your neighbors for Coffee with Councilors the first Saturday of the month at 10 a.m. in the Golden Community Center Bear Creek South room (1470 10th St.).

This month’s event features Lauren McKinney, Affordable Housing Policy Coordinator, who will share information on Healthy Housing initiatives and the rental registry.

The Historic Preservation Board has a number of responsibilities regarding the preservation and upkeep of Golden’s many historic sites.

The Board meets in Council Chambers on the second Wednesday evening of each month in public hearing at 6:30 p.m. unless otherwise noted on the calendar. Study sessions may be scheduled as needed.
