Celebrate women at the 5th annual Jeffco International Women’s Day on March 3 at Baldoria on the Water, 146 Van Gordon Street in Lakewood. The event is sponsored by SCL Health Lutheran and the City of Golden, with additional corporate sponshorships from Genesee Mountain Foundation, IX Power Clean Water, and corporate contributor, Coach Stacy’s Healthy U. Proceeds will benefit Porchlight Family Justice Center and the Jefferson County Library Foundation.

CU Regent Heidi Ganahl & founder of “Camp Bow Wow” will be the keynote speaker at this event during lunch. The winner of the “Unsung Heroine” Award will be announced as well, and Marjorie Sloan will be presented with the “Shattered Glass” Award. Planning Commission will meet on Monday, April 18 at 5 p.m. in Council Chambers at 911 10th St.

This meeting was scheduled as a continuance of public hearing from Feb. 2, 23, and April 6 to review an application for a rezoning for 12.4 acres from C-1, C-2, and M-2 to PUS for a mixed-use redevelopment and an alley vacation for a platted alley between Ford and Jackson Streets for the CoorsTek site. An opportunity for public comment will be provided before the regular meeting discussion.

The Planning Commission, established in 1948, affords residents the opportunity to actively participate in the planning of the City and its welfare; to learn all facets of the regulations governing such functions; interact with a wide variety of citizens participating in the shaping of Golden’s future; and assume an active role in any regulation changes involving zoning and subdivision activity.
