Public Works Citizen’s Academy Kick-off Session @ Public Works and Planning Building
Aug 28 @ 6:30 pm – 8:30 pm

Join the Public Works Department for the kick-off session of the Annual Public Works Citizen’s Academy. This Academy is a free 20-hour program exploring the work that goes into keeping Golden’s streets clear, the water flowing, and the city beautiful! Participants can expect equipment demonstrations, presentations by Public Works staff, and tours of City facilities including a field trip to Guanella reservoir. Citizen Budget Advisory Committee @ Virtual Meeting

The Citizens Budget Advisory Committee (CBAC) was created by the City Manager to advise City staff on the development, implementation, and evaluation of the annual City budget. Participation in CBAC is an opportunity not only to advise on the prioritization of how City tax dollars are spent, but also to advise our policymakers in their decision-making process.

CBAC meets the third Wednesday of each month, March through October and the second Wednesday of November, at 7:30 a.m.

CSM Master Plan Public Meeting @ CSM Student Center
Sep 18 @ 6:00 pm – 7:30 pm

The Golden School of Mines will hold a community meeting on Wednesday, September 18 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. in the Avery Room at the Student Center, 1200 16th Street, to discuss the Mines Master Plan and provide updates on Mines construction projects.

LGAA Candidates Forum @ Council Chambers

The Leadership Golden Alumni Association (LGAA) is hosting a Candidates Forum in connection with this year’s Golden election of City Councilors.

The forum will allow each candidate to make an opening and closing statement. In between, candidates will respond to questions developed by the LGAA membership and the public.

The forum will begin at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 3 in Council Chambers, 911 10th St.

The Candidates Forum will also be broadcast live and re-broadcast on Cable Channel 8/880 as well as the city website on the Agendas, Minutes, Web Casts and Schedules page.

Community Sustainability Initiatives Public Meeting @ American Mountaineering Center

community sustainability initiative meetingLast year, the Golden community weighed in on updating the 10-year old Sustainability Goals. With your help, Golden adopted new goals this past February. Now we need your help again to prioritize the great ideas for projects and policies that came from the community. Join us Wednesday, October 9 at the American Mountaineering Center to give your input to the Community Sustainability Advisory Board (CSAB) on numerous sustainability initiatives. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. with a presentation starting at 7 p.m. The event will conclude at 9 p.m. Refreshments will be provided.

Your input will be used to prioritize and inform recommendations of new programs by the Board and will also be used to update the City of Golden Sustainability Strategic Plan. The Strategic Plan is a roadmap to meeting Golden’s ambitious sustainability goals, including new policies and plans for the next five years. GHS Homecoming Parade & Game

Join Golden High School in celebrating homecoming with a parade on Washington Avenue, beginning around
5 p.m.

The GHS varsity football game kicks off at 7 p.m. at Marv Kay Stadium, Colorado School of Mines campus.
