Join the Public Works Department for the kick-off session of the Annual Public Works Citizen’s Academy. This Academy is a free 20-hour program exploring the work that goes into keeping Golden’s streets clear, the water flowing, and the city beautiful! Participants can expect equipment demonstrations, presentations by Public Works staff, and tours of City facilities including a field trip to Guanella reservoir. Join Golden High School in celebrating homecoming with a parade on Washington Avenue, beginning around
5 p.m.

The GHS varsity football game kicks off at 7 p.m. at Marv Kay Stadium, Colorado School of Mines campus.

Help support the Golden Volunteer Fire Department while enjoying a 5k fun run through beautiful Golden followed by music, food trucks, local craft beer and a classic car show!

The event starts and ends in the Historic Goosetown neighborhood, 514 9th St. from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The race entry fee is $30 with $10 of every entry donated to the Golden Fire Foundation. In addition, 100 % of vendor fees and sponsorships will also go directly to the Golden Volunteer Fire Dept.

Come do some Christmas Shopping at the Annual Golden High School Holiday Bazaar held by the PTA of Golden High. With one-of-a-kind gifts from over 90 different local artists, you can make a big dent on your holiday shopping list.

This is a fund raiser for the students at Golden High School, helping with scholarships, after prom party, grants, and more.

The Holiday Bazaar will be held at the Golden High School, 701 24th St, Golden on Saturday, December 7 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Includes free parking and admission.

The second open house for the US6 & Heritage Interchange redesign will take place on Wednesday, February 24 at 6 p.m. The virtual meeting will include a presentation describing four alternatives for the interchange with an opportunity to ask questions and provide input. The City of Golden is kicking off a project to plan and design transportation improvements along US 40 (West Colfax Avenue) between Violet Street and I-70. This project aims to enhance transportation choices and connectivity while increasing safety.

Community members will have the opportunity to learn about the project and provide feedback regarding their vision for the corridor during the project’s first open house, being held online at 6 p.m. on Thursday, July 29. Initial community input will be used to help evaluate improvement alternatives.
