Join the Public Works Department for the kick-off session of the Annual Public Works Citizen’s Academy. This Academy is a free 20-hour program exploring the work that goes into keeping Golden’s streets clear, the water flowing, and the city beautiful! Participants can expect equipment demonstrations, presentations by Public Works staff, and tours of City facilities including a field trip to Guanella reservoir. The 12th Annual “Knock Your Boots Off” Beer Tasting & Chili Cook-Off is an opportunity for beer and chili to take center stage near the heart of historic downtown Golden. 

This annual fall event offers beer and chili tasting, along with live entertainment, food vendors, corporate exhibitors and a silent auction. 

The Beer Tasting & Chili Cook-Off takes place in Parfet Park, (SE corner of Washington Ave & 10th Street) just adjacent to downtown Golden, Colorado.

The event was created to benefit the Golden Chamber of Commerce and St. Jude Children’s Hospital.

Help support the Golden Volunteer Fire Department while enjoying a 5k fun run through beautiful Golden followed by music, food trucks, local craft beer and a classic car show!

The event starts and ends in the Historic Goosetown neighborhood, 514 9th St. from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The race entry fee is $30 with $10 of every entry donated to the Golden Fire Foundation. In addition, 100 % of vendor fees and sponsorships will also go directly to the Golden Volunteer Fire Dept.

Celebrate women at the 5th annual Jeffco International Women’s Day on March 3 at Baldoria on the Water, 146 Van Gordon Street in Lakewood. The event is sponsored by SCL Health Lutheran and the City of Golden, with additional corporate sponshorships from Genesee Mountain Foundation, IX Power Clean Water, and corporate contributor, Coach Stacy’s Healthy U. Proceeds will benefit Porchlight Family Justice Center and the Jefferson County Library Foundation.

CU Regent Heidi Ganahl & founder of “Camp Bow Wow” will be the keynote speaker at this event during lunch. The winner of the “Unsung Heroine” Award will be announced as well, and Marjorie Sloan will be presented with the “Shattered Glass” Award. Come early to network and learn “The truth about personal & cyber security  today from a genuine, female Denver FBI agent”.

The second open house for the US6 & Heritage Interchange redesign will take place on Wednesday, February 24 at 6 p.m. The virtual meeting will include a presentation describing four alternatives for the interchange with an opportunity to ask questions and provide input.
