Lodging Tax and Retail Marijuana Information Open House @ Council Chambers
Aug 3 @ 5:00 pm – 6:00 pm
City Council is considering placing two ballot measures on the November 2021 election. One is regarding the authorization of a tax on overnight commercial lodging visitors to our community in hotels, motels, campgrounds, and short-term rentals. The second item City Council is considering is a measure that would adopt new regulations permitting retail sales of marijuana to adults within the parameters of Amendment 64 and to impose an excise tax on the commercial sales.
Join us for an Open House in Council Chambers (911 10th St.) on August 3 from 5 to 6 p.m. to learn more about these issues and provide input on what you support including parameters or funding scenarios. Learn more about both potential ballot measures at www.GuidingGolden.com.

Bike & Pedestrian Master Plan Open House @ Council Chambers
Aug 30 @ 6:30 pm – 8:00 pm

Cycling in GoldenGolden is already recognized as a regional cycling destination with access to the foothills. To address the needs of managing Golden’s growing popularity for pedestrians and bicyclists, Golden Planning staff, with the help of Muller Engineering, is working to develop a Bike and Pedestrian Master Plan that will provide the groundwork to ensure everyone—residents, visitors and commuters—has access to safe and efficient multimodal travel. More than just infrastructure, the Plan will focus on expanding our walking and biking culture through partnerships, programs and policy.

We want to hear from our community as we kick off this effort. Join us for a Bike and Pedestrian Master Plan Open House on Tuesday, August 30 from 6:30 to 8 p.m. in Council Chambers. You can also take a survey and get involved on GuidingGolden.com.
