Veterans Day Ceremony @ US Marine Corps Memorial
Nov 6 @ 2:00 pm – 3:30 pm

The United States Marine Corps Memorial Foundation will hold the annual ceremony for Veterans Day on US Marine Corps Memorial LogoSaturday, November 6 at 2 p.m.

The ceremony, honoring veterans and the 100 year anniversary of the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, will feature Guest Speaker Cmdr. Jason Pratt, USN (Retired) along with a music program. The 13 US troops fallen on August 26th will also be honored, and a parade float of the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier will be on site.

This year the USMC Memorial has been expanded to collect donations for the Toys for Tots program.

Bring your donations for the Toys for Tots donation drop-off from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Arrive early; parking is available in the commercial lots across the street.

Mines Park Redevelopment Meeting @ Virtual Meeting

The Colorado School of Mines Board of Trustees has given formal approval to begin work with a developer, Capstone Development Partners, on a public-private partnership that will reimagine Mines Park student housing and raise the total bed count from 538 to more than 1,000. Construction and renovation will begin in Summer 2022, with the first phase done by Fall 2023 and final completion by Fall 2024.

The project team is hosting the second of three meetings on Jan. 19, 6 to 7 p.m. with current Mines Park residents, Mines students and the surrounding City of Golden community as planning progresses to receive feedback on the vision for Mines Park.

CoorsTek Rezoning Application Virtual Community Meeting @ Virtual Meeting

Join us on March 10 at 5 p.m. for a virtual community meeting to discuss the CoorsTek rezoning application to Planning Commission.

This meeting will include a staff overview of the project, the area, and a timeline of the process. The applicant will present the zoning request and provide details on each topical section of the zoning request. There will be a Q&A for each topic area so that the public can have a direct dialog with the applicant. This meeting will be recorded.

CoorsTek Rezoning Application Community Meeting @ Council Chambers

Join us in Council Chambers on March 16 at 6 p.m. in Council Chambers for an in-person community meeting regarding the CoorsTek rezoning application to Planning Commission.

This meeting will include a staff overview of the project, the area and a timeline of the process. The applicant will present the zoning request and provide details on each topical section of the zoning. Following the presentation and an initial Q&A, there will be stations set up around the room by major topic, with both an applicant representative and city staff available to answer questions and have a dialog in a small group setting.

2022 State of the CityGet updated on what’s happening in Golden while enjoying a tasty breakfast spread during the State of the City Breakfast on Wednesday, April 13 from 8 to 10 a.m. Presented by the Golden Chamber of Commerce, this is an opportunity for City of Golden Mayor Laura Weinberg give her Address to Chamber members, the Golden community, and guests.

The buffet breakfast will be hosted at Schnepf’s Restaurant at Fossil Trace (3050 Illinois St.) and will include scrambled eggs, breakfast potatoes, bacon, sausage, breakfast pastries, coffee and tea.

Tickets start at $35 and advance reservation is required, so reserve your spot!

CASA Champions for Children Breakfast @ Marriott Denver West

Champions for Children Breakfast 2022CASA of Jefferson and Gilpin Counties will host its annual Champions for Children Breakfast on Thursday, April 21 from 7:30 to 8:30 a.m. at the Marriott Denver West in Golden.

April is Child Abuse prevention month so there is no better time for members of our community to come together to focus on CASA’s important work of advocating on behalf of child abuse and neglect victims in Jefferson and Gilpin counties.

RSVP to reserve your spot, learn more about CASA, and apply to be a volunteer.
