The City of Golden is hosting a neighborhood meeting on March 2, 2016 from 6 – 8 p.m. at the Golden Community Center, 1470 10th St. to discuss neighborhood concerns and opportunities to improve safety and livability for neighbors adjacent to Ford Street from north of State Highway 58 to just south of Alaska Street, as well as the residents that walk, bike and drive along the street. The discussion and consideration for traffic calming and sidewalk improvements was made to City Council by a group of neighbors in fall 2015.

The March 2 meeting will be an opportunity to let the City know what the important issues related to the street are, and to discuss significant limitations to certain changes, including the steep grade of the street in areas and the potential loss of on-street parking .

The determination of what changes, if any, should be made to the street and sidewalks will require careful consideration, however, this type of neighborhood discussion is the best place to start the evaluation.
