Golden Gran Fondo 2017The Golden Gran Fondo is a rules of the road bicycle race that is part of an international bicycle championship series, with a focus on the recreational aspect of cycling. There are different race routes, with a 18, 53 and an 81 mile loop available for riders.

The Golden Gran Fondo takes racers on a historic circuit through the Rocky Mountains.  Beginning in downtown Golden, the start of the event traces the route of the inaugural USA Pro Cycling Challenge. The course then continues it’s tracing of historical bicycle racing with a long climb towards the continental divide and some of the same roads used in the Coors Classic and featured in the movie American Flyers.

The event will take place from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. in Parfet Park, with a race start under the arch on Washington Avenue.
