Mission & Responsibilities
The mission of the Visit Golden Community Marketing Stakeholder Committee is, through collaborative marketing efforts, to position Golden as a premier destination in Colorado by promoting its unique attributes to residents, regional visitors and out-of-state travelers. The committee’s core values are Fun, Diversity, Communication, Value and Collaboration.
The committee is comprised of 13 members who represent tourism-facing industry segments and key Golden economic stakeholder groups. The Visit Golden Community Marketing Stakeholder Committee approves of the annual Community Marketing budget and provides policy-level strategic recommendations for preparation of the annual community marketing program.
The Community Marketing Program, Visit Golden, is a cooperative marketing effort between the City of Golden and the local retail business community that works to promote tourism and commerce within Golden. This cooperative effort combines professional marketing strategies with innovative community vision that produces award-winning and effective campaigns and promotions. Visit Golden utilizes a merchant-based funding mechanism, i.e. the “Vendors’ Fee,” to directly benefit retail sales, restaurants, entertainment venues and cultural attractions through increased awareness, visitation and patronage.
