Connected Community

Connected Community
In ProgressIn an increasingly “social” world, opportunities for face-to-face interactions are more and more vital to creating a strong and vibrant community.

Creating opportunities for our community to connect through completed sidewalks or neighborhood alliances, will foster greater communication and inspire innovation, which will help Golden continue to thrive.

To accomplishment the goal of a connected community, the Council has identified 3 specific signature initiatives to investigate, evaluate, and where appropriate implement in this two year period. These initiatives include:

INITIATIVE #1

Increase capital investment to address trail and sidewalk gaps and to make missing and critical connections between and among neighborhoods and destinations.

INITIATIVE #2

Encourage and develop “local” (special) events that bring the community together and help create community without attracting large numbers of non-residents.

INITIATIVE #3

Explore a potential neighborhood alliance self-help and assistance network with local partners.
