Community Wildfire Protection Plan

North Table Mountain FireSteep terrain, large areas of continuous fuels and frequent high fire danger weather conditions make wildfire a significant concern in Jefferson County, Colorado. Both general and specific actions are needed to mitigate wildfire risk and improve ecosystem health. Learn more about the Community Wildfire Protection Plan, which identifies wildland fire issues facing the community and outlines prioritized mitigation actions.

For more information about how to protect your family and property from wildfire contact the Golden Fire Department at (303) 215-8886.

Child Passenger Safety Seat Checks

Trained technicians will check your child’s car seat for safe installation. They will educate the parents or guardian how to correctly and safely secure their child in the car seat.

Safety seat checks are free of charge and performed by appointment only. Contact the Fire Inspector to schedule a time – (303) 215-8886.

Senior Fire Safety

The Golden Fire Department wants the senior citizens in Golden to remain active in our community and continue to lead independent lives. The goal of this program is to assist in that process. We will provide a courtesy safety survey of your home, provide a File of Life and information on its use, make certain your smoke alarms work properly and help you keep your home safe from hazards. We also provide group programs on general home safety for seniors.

Fire Station Tours

At this time, for your safety and the safety of our Firefighters, we regret that we cannot do larger tours. Masks will be worn by our personnel and all members in your party at all times during scheduled tours. If you live in Golden City Limits and are a party of five or less, please contact Inspector Jonathan Priestly at jpriestly@cityofgolden.net to schedule a convenient time for a Station Tour. There are limited days and times and requests will be handled on a first-come, first-served basis.
