Affordable Housing

The work of the City of Golden on housing diversity draws upon the City of Golden Comprehensive Plan pdf icon, the  Golden Vision 2030 pdf icon  document, as well as the work of the Affordable Housing Committee, who met from January through May of 2023, and developed recommendations to promote affordable housing in Golden.

County & Federal Assistance

In addition to the City’s efforts, Jefferson County offers financial assistance for the development of affordable housing for low-income, very low-income, and extremely low-income households through federally supported loan and grant programs.

Funding is provided to municipalities, other government and nonprofit agencies, private and nonprofit housing developers, and other lenders to support the creation or preservation of long-term affordable housing countywide. The funds, administered by Jefferson County, are made available through the HOME Investment Partnership Program and the Community Development Block Grant.

To apply, applicants must first register on the Jefferson County Community Development Portal, then complete the Affordable Housing Development application online.
