Spring Yard Waste Collection Week 2018
May 15 @ 7:00 am – 5:00 pm

Yard Waste bagsCustomers who subscribe to the City of Golden’s trash service through Alpine Waste can participate in the semi-annual spring yard waste collection from May 14 to 18.

Yard waste will be collected by a separate truck on your designated trash collection day and should be placed at or near where your trash is collected by 7 a.m.

Place material in reusable containers of your choice, or in compostable bags available from home improvement stores. Yard waste for this collection is limited to grass clippings, pine needles, leaves, weeds, branches, sawdust, ground and chipped wood. CoorsTek Air Permit Public Comment Hearing @ Council Chambers
May 15 @ 7:00 pm

The Colorado Air Quality Control Commission will hold a public hearing to hear comments on a proposed renewal of the Title V Operating Permit for the CoorsTek Inc. facility at 600 9th Street.

Any interested person may provide comments on the sufficiency of the proposed operating permit’s preliminary analysis and whether the permit application should be approved or denied.

Parks, Recreation and Museums Advisory Board Meeting @ Golden Community Center
May 15 @ 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm

The Parks, Recreation & Museums Advisory Board was created in 1982 in order to increase community involvement, and to advise Golden City Council and staff on how to best provide safe and comprehensive parks and recreation facilities, programs, and services on behalf of all current and future residents of the City of Golden.

The board consists of seven members and one alternate who serve four-year terms, making suggestions about policies and procedures, fees and charges, acceptance of park land, design of parks, and other projects relating to the Parks and Recreation Department.

The board meets regularly at 7 p.m. in the Community Center on the third Tuesday of each month. For more information, please visit our Parks and Recreation Advisory Board page. Citizens Budget Advisory Committee Meeting @ Council Chambers
May 16 @ 7:30 am

The Citizens Budget Advisory Committee (CBAC) was created by the City Manager to advise City staff on the development, implementation, and evaluation of the annual City budget. Participation in CBAC is an opportunity not only to advise on the prioritization of how City tax dollars are spent, but also to advise our policymakers in their decision-making process.

CBAC meets the third Wednesday of each month, March through November, at 7:30 a.m. in the Golden City Hall Council Chambers.

Planning Commission Study Session @ Council Chambers
May 16 @ 6:30 pm

The Planning Commission, established in 1948, affords residents the opportunity to actively participate in the planning of the City and its welfare; to learn all facets of the regulations governing such functions; interact with a wide variety of citizens participating in the shaping of Golden’s future; and assume an active role in any regulation changes involving zoning and subdivision activity.

Planning Commission Study Sessions recur on the third Wednesday of each month. Study Sessions are open to the public, but are for information only, and no public hearings or votes will take place during the meeting. To participate in a Planning Commission public hearing, those meetings are held on the first Wednesday of each month at 6:30 p.m. in Council Chambers (unless otherwise noted).

City Council Study Session @ Council Chambers

The Golden City Council may meet in study session when necessary. These meetings are informational only and no public hearing or votes will take place. Regular Council meetings take place on the second and fourth Thursday of the month unless otherwise noted on the calendar.

Community Pride Days 2018

Community Pride DaysIt’s that time of year again – Community Pride Days! That means, if you’re a Golden resident, you can bring your unwanted junk for free disposal. You’ll need a current driver’s license with your address in order to participate. (Don’t know if your house is within City limits? Check Jeffco.us/awiz/ to find out for sure).
