The board consists of seven members and one alternate who serve four-year terms, making suggestions about policies and procedures, fees and charges, acceptance of park land, design of parks, and other projects relating to the Parks and Recreation Department.
The board will meet in study session at 7 p.m. in the Community Center on the Tuesday, September 11.

Watch a variety of artists paint the beautiful scenery around us. The event, In Plein Sight, is a free week-long public painting and gallery exposition throughout Jefferson County from Sept. 10 – 16. The biennial event features 25 professional artists painting along Clear Creek in Golden, as well as a variety of other Jeffco Open Space locations.
A gallery exhibit from Sept. 12 – 16 will feature all of the works of art created during the week, with paintings added daily as the artists produce their pieces. All artwork is available for purchase and on display at the Golden Community Center, 1470 10th St.
In Plein Sight debuted in 2016 as a way to celebrate Jeffco Open Space Parks and serve as a cornerstone event for the volunteer-led conservation nonprofit PLAN Jeffco. Plein air, defined as “open air,” was developed in the mid-19th century by French Impressionists including Monet, Pissarro and Renoir. The idea behind this event is to bring awareness to the gorgeous landscape around us, and teach residents and visitors how to conserve the great outdoors.
