The Mobility & Transportation Advisory Board offers a venue to evaluate the relationship between mobility of all types and the economy, sustainability, safety, land use, neighborhood integrity, and emergency response times; and study the importance of transportation access to health care, employment, education, housing, business, and recreational facilities.

MTAB meets on the fourth Tuesday of each month at 6 p.m. in Council Chambers at 911 10th Street unless otherwise noted.

The mission of the Community Sustainability Advisory Board (CSAB) is to assist the City of Golden in achieving the ten-year sustainability goals. In order to facilitate achievement of these goals, the Board will lead, encourage, enable, and empower the citizens, visitors, and people who work in Golden, to live in a sustainable manner.

The Community Sustainability Advisory Board will meet on the fourth Wednesday of each month from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., unless rescheduled for holidays or a lack of quorum. Meetings are open to the public.

The Golden City Council meets in Council Chambers in City Hall every second and fourth Thursday at 6:30 p.m., unless rescheduled due to holidays or other events happening in the city.

Imagine helping your neighbors and fellow residents on what could be the worst day of their lives. The Golden Fire Department (GFD) is in search of men and women who live in Golden who want to become part of the city’s amazing team of volunteer firefighters.

By joining the GFD, you learn much more than how to put out fires. You will learn medical rescue techniques, high angle rescue, swift water and ice rescue, how to save people from car crashes, and much more. You will be helping your neighbors, friends and fellow residents in one of the most long-standing and honorable ways possible for Golden volunteers.

Do you want to learn more about what it takes and if you would be the right fit for the GFD? Join us for one of two open houses to meet the staff and volunteers and get all of your questions answered. Come enjoy free food and refreshments and let us get to know you! The Historic Preservation Board has a number of responsibilities regarding the preservation and upkeep of Golden’s many historic sites.

The Board meets on the first Monday evening of each month in public hearing in the City Council Chambers at 6:30 p.m. unless otherwise noted on the calendar. Study sessions may be scheduled the third Monday of each month.

Graduates of any of the 35 years of Leadership Golden are invited to attend this free annual meeting of the Leadership Golden Alumni Association. The event will be held at the Golden Visitors Center, 1010 Washington Avenue on Tuesday, October 2 at 5:30 p.m.

The Parks, Recreation and Museums Advisory Board will meet in Study Session on Tuesday, October 2 at 7 p.m. in the Golden Community Center at 1470 10th Street.

At the meeting, the board will discuss Singletracks Sidewalks.

In 2011, the idea of Coffee with a Cop was born in a small California town. Since then, there have been thousands of these coffee gatherings in all 50 states and even in 14 different countries. Golden Police participated in the past, but it fell off the radar in recent years. Now, Golden Police officers want to bring it back to our city.

“I believe it is going to be a good thing to bring this event back to Golden,” said event organizer Corporal Adam Lanning. “Many of our citizens like to speak and talk to officers and this just gives them another opportunity.”

Join the Golden Police Department for Coffee with a Cop from 7 to 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 3 at Café 13, 1301 Arapahoe St.  The owners of Café 13 have graciously agreed to host the event and provide free coffee and pastries to anyone who comes. There is no agenda and no speeches, just open and honest communication in a comfortable environment. We hope to see you there!

*Please note, this meeting on October 3, 2018 has been canceled due to a lack of cases to present to the Commission.

The Planning Commission, established in 1948, affords residents the opportunity to actively participate in the planning of the City and its welfare; to learn all facets of the regulations governing such functions; interact with a wide variety of citizens participating in the shaping of Golden’s future; and assume an active role in any regulation changes involving zoning and subdivision activity.

Planning Commission public hearings are held on the first Wednesday of each month at 6:30 p.m. in Council Chambers. Planning Commission Study Sessions recur on the third Wednesday of each month.
