Last year, the Golden community weighed in on updating the 10-year old Sustainability Goals. With your help, Golden adopted new goals this past February. Now we need your help again to prioritize the great ideas for projects and policies that came from the community. Join us Wednesday, October 9 at the American Mountaineering Center to give your input to the Community Sustainability Advisory Board (CSAB) on numerous sustainability initiatives. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. with a presentation starting at 7 p.m. The event will conclude at 9 p.m. Refreshments will be provided.
Your input will be used to prioritize and inform recommendations of new programs by the Board and will also be used to update the City of Golden Sustainability Strategic Plan. The Strategic Plan is a roadmap to meeting Golden’s ambitious sustainability goals, including new policies and plans for the next five years. The Golden City Council will meet at 5:30 p.m. on Oct. 10 with an adjournment into executive session. The regular meeting will then reconvene as usual at 6:30 p.m.

The Golden Safety Academy was created to help educate and empower citizens with information and resources that enhance their personal safety and crime prevention. This free academy is held once a month from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on the second Monday of every month in the Golden Fire Department. You may attend one, several or all sessions.

The Golden Urban Renewal Authority (GURA) implements urban renewal projects consistent with community values.

The Local Liquor Licensing Authority meets on the third Tuesday of each month, unless otherwise noted. These meetings are open to the public and take place in City Council Chambers, 911 10th Street at 2:30 p.m.
The Board is comprised of a Hearing Officer, who is appointed by City Council.

The Parks, Recreation & Museums Advisory Board was created to increase community involvement, and to advise Golden City Council and staff on how to best provide safe and comprehensive parks and recreation facilities, programs, and services on behalf of all current and future residents of the City of Golden.
The board makes suggestions about policies and procedures, fees and charges, acceptance of park land, design of parks, and other projects relating to the Parks and Recreation Department.
