Do you have great ideas about sustainability in Golden? Are you ready to dive in and turn the community’s sustainability ideas into action? If so, mark your calendars for an upcoming sustainability task force meeting.
The Community Sustainability Advisory Board (CSAB) is looking for interested residents, local experts, and community activists to help in the following tasks:
- Identify data and resources needed to determine impacts.
- Review drafts of the 2020 Sustainability Strategic Plan.
- Help campaign for top priorities.
Each task force meeting will focus on one of the three sustainability goal areas : Water, Waste and Energy. Community members are invited to participate in one or more task forces of interest. To participate, simply show up to one of the task force meetings listed below. Refreshments will be provided.

On Saturdays in December, authentic and historic downtown Golden becomes a festive holiday center. Join in the holiday spirit and watch floats, clowns, festive holiday characters, and Santa Claus on the firetruck parade down Washington Avenue. After the parades, head to the downtown area shops and restaurants. Each parade is different, providing the perfect reason to bring the family back to Golden again and again!
The route is down Washington Avenue from 11th to 13th Streets through historic downtown, with lots of activities before and after. The parades are presented by the Golden Chamber of Commerce. Go to www.VisitGolden.com for more information.
Colorado Gives Day is an annual statewide movement that celebrates and increases philanthropy in Colorado through online giving.
The $1 Million Incentive Fund created by the partners is one of the largest giving-day incentive funds in the country.

Celebrate women at the 5th annual Jeffco International Women’s Day on March 3 at Baldoria on the Water, 146 Van Gordon Street in Lakewood. The event is sponsored by SCL Health Lutheran and the City of Golden, with additional corporate sponshorships from Genesee Mountain Foundation, IX Power Clean Water, and corporate contributor, Coach Stacy’s Healthy U. Proceeds will benefit Porchlight Family Justice Center and the Jefferson County Library Foundation.
CU Regent Heidi Ganahl & founder of “Camp Bow Wow” will be the keynote speaker at this event during lunch.
