The zoning code rewrite consultants are making the finishing touches to the initial code draft and it will be available to the public in late January. You are invited to join a virtual community meeting on Jan. 28 from 6 to 8 p.m. This meeting is intended to educate the community on the code’s contents and how it has been constructed. Upon the release of the draft, the community will have approximately one month to review it, make comments, and provide those comments to the Planning Division and the consultants for consideration.

The second open house for the US6 & Heritage Interchange redesign will take place on Wednesday, February 24 at 6 p.m. The virtual meeting will include a presentation describing four alternatives for the interchange with an opportunity to ask questions and provide input. The login information for the open house is below.
After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the meeting.

Golden community members are invited to join the Golden Police Department for a District 2 Virtual GPD Community Safety Update meeting on March 18 from 6 to 7 p.m. Participants will meet Chief Bill Kilpatrick and Ward 4 Councilor Bill Fisher, and watch a presentation on auto theft trends by the Colorado Metro Autotheft Task force. Tips for crime prevention will also be offered, followed by an opportunity for community members to ask questions.

If you ordered a Garden In A Box kit, come out to pick up your kit between 12 and 3 p.m. on Saturday, May 15 during the Greener Golden Event at the Public Works and Planning Building (1445 10th St). Residents can also take advantage of FREE compost and vegetable seeds.

Join VFW Post 4171 and the Golden American Legion Post this Memorial Day at the Golden Cemetery in honoring those who died in active military service.
The service will begin at 11 a.m.
Golden Mayor Laura Weinberg will offer brief remarks, along with Lakewood Council members from Ward 1 and 3, and a short ceremony will follow.
In the event of inclement weather, the ceremony will be canceled.
